"Investigators recovered: yellow leather gloves with red stains from one property and two swabs of stains from inside a bucket on another property, according to search warrant returns filed Dec. 14.

A Ruger .357-caliber revolver, and six swabs from blood-like stains were taken from another property, according to the search warrant return. McIntosh County Sheriff Kevin Ledbetter said the property where these items were recovered was McGuire’s home, where she cohabitated with her son’s father."

The .357 and blood stains were on the property Peggy shared with her boyfriend. But they don't say where the gloves and bucket were found except that it was a different property. This may get LE going in the right direction, but in most states to get a conviction with no body, you usually have to find the crime scene or a vehicle that might have been used to transport the body. In addition, there has to other evidence such as a large amount of blood stains to indicate the victim would not have survived, other tissue samples from internal organs or they were in an area where someone would not likely go voluntarily (like the trunk of a car). And that .357 isn't going to do much good unless they find a body or the crime scene has a bullet lodged in a wall. I also don't hold out much hope yet on the stains when you have a farm with livestock. In a suburban house, yes, on farm, somewhat less.

BUT it is all part of the puzzle. The rest is coming once LE knows which direction to go.

Can they extract DNA samples from the blood stains?

Maybe I'm not reading something right or just having a blonde moment but why would the search warrants be for so many houses/properties close to or near the house she lived? And why are the people they've talked to & or questioned fearing for their safety if their names are released? It's like the entire neighborhood was involved or something, or at least that's the way I read it, but like I said maybe I missed something [emoji12]

The thoughts & opinions stated above are that, MY random thoughts & opinions.

It's possible.

In the Jessica Heeringa case from Norton Shores, Michigan from 2013, the blood that was outside the Exxon Station was tested and was found to be Jessica's.

I thought it meant that it was her home and her properties surrounding her home that they had search warrants for. Maybe I am mistaken and they searched other people's properties, too?
IMOO.

They don't serve warrants without probable cause so it could be that they suspected that the searched houses could potentially have evidence related to her disappearance. The probable cause could have came from tips, cell phone records (calls, texts, and GPS), fingerprints, or other types of evidence.

And why are the people they've talked to & or questioned fearing for their safety if their names are released?

I don't know if it was every confirmed that they were fearing for their safety for having their names released, but it would make sense. I suppose they would want their names protected from possible defamation. If your name is attached to a big case like this, especially in a negative way, it may be difficult to carry on with your life. It can be tough to find work, hard to date, hard to make friends, and hard to carry on a general social life.

The only reason I can think of for searching so many places is if they have a suspect(s) and their family is from there. The suspect may have access to many properties - parents, aunts/uncles, cousins, etc. I'm finding it more difficult to see why LE took a .357 gun. Is it the only gun he owned? Has he had problems with the law and is not supposed to have a gun? Did someone hear a shot from the property that day? I find it difficult to see a justification for why they took it.

I think we need to give it time before we start considering it to be a futile search. I think Peggy will be found, but it will be when they get it together and get the search teams in place to make it happen. LE have been dragging their feet with volunteer searches and they need to embrace them instead.

And winter is coming -- the good thing about winter searches is that a lot of underbrush, shrubs, leaves, etc., will be at a minimum, thus making searches a bit easier, perhaps, but it'll be cold work. I don't know how much snow OK gets, but that will make searches very difficult and cold. (Obviously I don't like cold weather!) It may be, as we have seen in other cases, etc., that it will take hunters to find any remains, if it is remains that will tell the tale. We still don't know for sure.

But yes, if any searching is to be done, it needs to start tomorrow.

This is so sad.

Thank you fot this Faith08. I believe they know who did it (the usual suspect) and are building a case. I hope they're able to find her body.

Mmmm. Agree.

The body is so much of the case: The what is essentially the how, perhaps the when (but time really reduces "when" accuracy), sometimes the where -- so important to get to and prove the who and maybe the why.

Bless her heart.

bbm

That's the way I read it, too. Maybe her house, etc., are surrounded by family property which she owns?? Or was it just worded a bit loosely?

Anyway, some searches were done. Close to home. Hmmm. I guess because her car was found in the area, LE figured she had not gotten far when something happened.

Maybe something will come to light soon...

I know the area has had a lot of rain lately.
Yes, it is sad. I hope they find her!

Just a couple of days ago I was watching the news and they we're talking about how lake Eufaula is still 12 feet above normal. We have already had a little bit of snow, but not too much. In my area the snow is already completely gone.

Who am I? I am that tiny voice in the back of your mind which encourages you to be who you choose to be as long as you are truthful to yourself. I am that tiny voice in the back of your mind that encourages you to reach higher. I am that tiny voice in the back of your mind that makes you understand that you are a survivor...that you are important...that you matter.

If this case was indeed a foul play case, as most of us believe, then the weather won't really help in my opinion. You would think the murderer would dispose of the body in a very hard to find location, such as a grave or the bottom of a lake.

By the way, does anyone know if Peggy and her live in boyfriend (or any of their extended family) owned any pigs?

The weather may help if she is deceased as it will help preserve the body.

Pigs. Ugh. I don't even want to think about that aspect.

Here's the Nancy Grace transcripts.
The portion about Peggy starts almost half way through, so scroll down to read it.
Under this heading... "[20:33:00]"

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1512/21/ng.01.html

I saw the program. At the time I thought there wasn't much to it. She didn't ask about whether Peggy was supposed to be at work that day, about the warrants or if LE used dogs around the truck when they found it. One good question, though, and that was how did the father know to pick up his son. I also didn't know that Peggy and the boy's father were not living together.
