Brutal Killing Of An Anadarko Preacher Before Multi-County Grand Jury
http://www.news9.com/story/35019715...darko-preacher-before-multi-county-grand-jury
---
A source tells News 9 the investigation has been ongoing for several years. Now, a grand jury will weigh the evidence to determine whether a suspect should be indicted.

This development could ease unrest in the small Caddo County community. There are growing rumblings of discontent over the arrests of possible suspects that never panned out.

Daily Oklahoman:

Grand jury looks into brutal 2009 slaying of pastor at Anadarko church

---
The main suspect, Denise Kay Cooper, 55, of Anadarko, died of cancer Feb. 21. The suspect, who also was known as Darnell Cooper, spent time in prison for methamphetamine distribution and had a criminal history that included assault.

She was still on probation at the time of her death.
---
Grand jurors may be trying to determine if the slaying began as a robbery and took a bizarre turn because of drug use by the perpetrators. Rumors have circulated in Anadarko for years that Denise Cooper was linked to the killing.

So they think Cooper acted alone?

So they think Cooper acted alone?

I don't believe she did. However, blaming the murder on a dead woman would wrap this up nicely for them, even though I think they too believe she was just one of the killers.

We shall see. Perhaps.

At least it's encouraging that the matter has not been forgotten, per usual Oklahoma-style.

Wow! I had no idea anything at all was going on in this case.....not that it's a high bar.

OSBI has never struck me as having a stellar record. I would love to have them prove me wrong in this case.

Her son, Jimmy Cooper, testified briefly before the grand jury Tuesday. He acknowledged to The Oklahoman as he left that the grand jury wanted to know about his mother.

One witness, Dustin Tofpi, declined to comment after he left. The second witness, Kevin I. Mahan, 42, was before the grand jury only briefly, an indication he refused to answer questions about the slaying.

'Has anyone else seen the Sept 2014 Topix post?

"Darnell Cooper, Kevin Mahan and unknown, killed pastor Daniels, and all of Anadarko knows it..."

I should add nothing has been reported that the incident today was a homicide or an accident. Or at least not reported in the local media.

The lowest of the low! Pastor Daniels probably helped Cooper out at some point and then she was murdered for money! Pretty sorry the 2 "witnesses" took the 5th to avoid helping solve Pastor Daniels' case. Where is the Justice for Pastor Carol Daniels? ? ?

I could not get the link to work Dallen. Will try to bing or google to see if something pops up. Thank you for the information!!

Yikes, my family settled in this territory as it opened...becoming Terror-tory?

At least for pastors at church....

This crime should never leave our thoughts.

I so agree with you! And I do think about Reverend Carol quite often. It makes me so sad and mad that her murder has not been solved. No justice for her or her family!

I went to high school in Anadarko. It has a couple of unsolved murders under it's belt. As for the rumors that it was a Satanic cult, it's been found untrue. I know some people who were questioned under this premise.
