Operation Lookout lists Shannon's case as "Case Closed." Anyone know the reason why? He's not been recovered, so why "case closed"?

This whole case sounds weird to me. I mean, some guy just knows you out cold and takes your baby? Were their no witnesses? This case makes me suspend my disbelief almost as much as the Angela Hammond case. Both of these stories give off the odor of BS

I asked several of my friends / family that still live around Cordell and none remember anything about this case. I recentally stumbled into this case because of the disappearance of Anthony Holland and Melissa Flores. All 3 are unrelated but all 3 disappeared from Cordell. I find it amazing that they would close the case of a baby that just disappeared. I know in Anthony's and Melissa's case they have no body and since they are adults you can't prove they didn't just 'leave'. but it is hard for a baby to just 'leave'. Maybe it is easy to close a case if no one is pushing for results.

This case seems very strange to me, there is not much info at all available, no one seems to no anything / or remember hearing anything about it.

I am from Woodward, Oklahoma. I'm curious to see if I know her.

They still live in Oklahoma. I did a Switchboard.com search on them and turned up a listing for each of them in Woodward, OK. The address and phone number is the same, so I'm assuming they are still together. Woodward and Cordell are about 94 miles away from one another, so it's hard to believe there would be two different sets of people with these names so close together.

I matched the names at the address in Woodward with the approximate birthdates of the people living there and it seemed to match up.(Mar 1960 and July 1960).

There is also a listing for a Dustin P. Ketron in Cincinnati, OH with the same approximate birthdate, so maybe they've broken up and they/he's moved or maybe they were at one time together in Ohio.

There is a Dan and Calvin Ketron listed at the same Oklahoma address.

There is an Ann Ketron listed for 276 area code which is the western half of Virginia.

I love to research. Can you tell?

There is a facebook page for Ann... From Woodward Oklahoma... https://www.facebook.com/aketron1

Details of Disappearance
Shannon was last seen in Cordell, Oklahoma on June 17, 1982. His mother, Ann Ketron, stated that they were driving between Buffalo, Oklahoma and Cordell in her silver 1978 Pontiac when they pulled over on a dirt road on the side of Route 183 so she could retrieve something.

A Caucasian male in a green late-model GMC truck came up alongside them and asked Ann if everything was okay. She said she did not need help, and the man told her she looked like his ex-wife. Then he knocked her unconscious.

When Ann woke up, the baby was gone and he has never been heard from again. He is presumed to have been taken by the unidentified man. Shannon's abductor is described as 5'10 and 175 pounds with a dark complexion. He is believed to have taken a green duffel bag out of Ann's car, along with the child.

Ann's husband, Dustin Ketron, was in prison for burglary at the time of Shannon's abduction. Ann took a polygraph test about her son's disappearance, but the results have not been released.

Shannon's case remains unsolved.

Ok, the mom reports the baby and a green duffel bag are missing from her vehicle after a total stranger allegedly knocked her out? That is almost the exact story Willie Wilson gave when reporting his infant son Delano missing.

I suspect Shannon was a victim of foul play, but not at the hands of a stranger.

Well, we can’t say for sure until some evidence is found to indicate what exactly happened that day

To me, this sounds as if Ann was retrieving something from the glove compartment, backseat, floor of passenger seat, etc. If that was indeed the case, then it wouldn't take more than a minute to do so and get back on the road. Yet the man supposedly had enough time to not only notice in the first place that someone seemed to be having difficulty, pull over, get out of the car and walk over to her?

Or did Ann actually get out of the car to get something out of the trunk?

I'm really surprised that this case got so little attention given the circumstances. I hope the child is alive.

I agree! This is too suspicious. I read this whole thread and some earlier posts, people seemed to think the husband who was in jail at the time had something to do with it. Maybe he did but then so did Ann. If not Ann alone. I find it hard to believe that a mother whose baby was kidnapped makes no further attempt to finding her child. There is no proof in subsequent years that Ann her husband or other family members tried to find the child. That is something I can not understand, to make no effort. I also think it is strange that she takes a polygraph but those results are not released. It makes one think she did not pass or was inconclusive. LE has no problem saying when someone passed. I would love to know the results and see the case file. I think LE dropped the ball here. Ann died Feb 16 2020 and her husband, Shannon's father Dustin preceded her. Sadly and unsurprisingly to me Shannon is not mentioned in Ann's obituary at all. It states that Ann owned Boss Bail Bonds and enjoyed helping people. Did the mother just give up?
Neither one of their Obituaries mentions him, just the daughter that came later. It’s so sad. No one in NW OK remembers this even happening…

Shannon Patrick Ketron was 7 month old little boy when he was taken from his mother Ann Ketron.

Ann was driving between Buffalo, Oklahoma and Cordell with her son, Shannon. Ann decided to pull over on a dirt road, in her silver 1978 Pontiac, along Route 183. She stated needed to retrieve something.

Once she was pulled over, a white male came up along side her asking if she needed help. Ann responded telling him she didn’t need any help. He then told her she reminded him of his ex-wife. After this he came up behind her and knock her unconscious.

When Ann woke up, the green late model GMC truck the man was driving was gone. Ann noted Shannon was missing and a green duffel bag. Ann took a polygraph test, but the results have never been released. Ann’s husband, Dustin Ketron, was in prison for burglary at the time of the disappearance.

The suspect is described as a dark complexion Caucasian male, approximately 5’10” tall weighing 175lbs.

If you have any information on the abduction and disappearance of Shannon Ketron please notify Washita County Sheriff's Office (580)832-2334 or the Oklahoma Federal Bureau of Investigation at (405)290-7770.
