Anyway, I thought of another theory in this case...could Sharon be from Utah? FDF claimed he painted a Mormon Tabernacle but I read this could be a lie. Perhaps he made the story up to cover up the abduction, and maybe Sharon was really a Mormon woman's daughter born out of wedlock who he had to take so she could cover things up after the years of service that all Mormons are required to have. (You're not allowed to even date during that time period...I believe it's something like 2 years where you've got to serve the church with something like door-to-door recruitment).

While I'm not LDS (mormon) I do live in Utah and am surrounded by them. My daughter is also a convert. Which is interesting because I'm a smoking, drinking, Deist! I would like to clarify a few things about the LDS religion. There is not a requirement that you serve the church. There is what is called a mission that lasts two years. It's expensive to the families and puts a young persons life on hold for two years. Usually men go on missions and it's all voluntary. I would be surprised if even 25% go on a mission. And yes, when you are on a mission you can't date, you can't really even communicate with your family, unless it's an emergency situation. And children born out of wedlock are adopted out. There has never been a hidden secret give a child away program.

However, I do find the Temple connection interesting. I will have to go back and read the posts to see what that's about.

I doubt that anyone in the mormon faith would give someone OUTSIDE the faith a baby. Everyone I have know that is LDS feels very strongly that they want their children to be LDS so they will be with them in the celestial kingdom. I bet that would be the case even if they couldn't care for them. Personally, i'm chucking the LDS theory out the window!!

We have to remember that in the 70's there was very minimal technology for LE and no internet to share info. Also, people had more respect for LE and if the FBI or cops said to a family that their child is presumed dead somewhere, then the family took that as the facts/truth and lived on with that theory. Only now do people question officials and try to get answers themselves. Sharon's family could easily be in this situation.

I have the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that if we could just get the pictures of little Sharon out there to the wide spread media and saturate it (Oprah, Dateline, ect) and do a media blitz for just like, a week and a half... you'd find family members or SOMEONE who actually knows who she really was that thought she was just "gone".

So many of her classmates have come forward for bigger sharon (after floyd had her) because they remembered her. This was a memorable person. This is a slovable case. Even babysitters from when she was little remember Suzeann. How sad.

my ex bf. his birth mother was Mormon. she gave him up for adoption. his parents that adopted him are both Greek.

(My book is gone, so I am working off of memory here...) I believe Floyd said that "no one would be looking for Sharon" or something along those lines. Does anyone else feel that her mother's identity may be the only way to find out who Sharon really was? For all the theories that I have read about where Sharon came from, I really wonder if Floyd befriended a single mom, who had no family around her and then he "took" custody of Sharon because of the mother dying? I could be way off here, but this is the only theory I keep coming back to.

I also wanted to say that I really enjoy reading what everyone has to contribute here. With so many people looking at so many different states, missing people websites and the myspace page, I pray that just one of these routes will give Sharon her true identity. I do wish the media would just put Sharon's picture out there, it would be great to see a 48 hours mystery about her. These shows are popular and are viewed by many.

To any of you who are not comfortable posting here, I am very sorry it came to that. Without a bunch of ideas coming forward, it's easy for a "case" to go stale. I agree with the poster who said that fresh eyes are needed and I agree with Tuffy that all it takes is one piece of evidence to turn this "case" around. And in looking for "Sharon", it's always possible that another case can come to light or be "solved"! You guys are awesome, so keep pressing on. :)

Is there photos of the denman family on the these threads can someone direct me to them.....at one time it was speculation that this family was AKA:Sharon Marshall's family

The Denman daughter was Sheri Johnson (ruled out)

Circumstances of Disappearance
Sheri Lynn Johnson disappeared together with her mother, Freda Denman and brother Michael Lloyd Johnson. The father has not been seen since that time. The family went missing in November 1974, but the landlord did not report them missing until March 1975.
The police found Freda's clothes in the closet; while her husband's and children's clothes were missing. Blood was found on a cushion in the home, but the tests were inconclusive.
Denman's husband Henry Lee Harbison aka Henry Johnson has an extensive criminal background and uses several aliases. Henry had affiliations with members of the "Church of the New Song" who claim the family was murdered. The Denman family believes that Freda was killed and the children were given away.
The Independence police investigated it as a missing person's case. At the same time, the FBI was looking for Henry. Independence closed their case, assuming the FBI would pick up where they left off, but that didn't happen and the case remains unsolved.
In 2004, the police reopened the investigation in these disappearances.

From what I've been reading (in archives as well), it appears we are still waiting on DNA results for matches with Lori Peugeot and Rhonda Moore/Melissa Headley. Does anyone have an update on either of these? They appear to have been "in the system" for quite some time now - a lot longer than one would expect to get a result. Surely they have been ruled in/out by now? Have I missed a post somewhere that has dealt with this? Any updates would be appreciated.

I needed to see these photos thank you for providing the link....
How Long does it take for DNAs' to be ran....does it depend on who's running them NCMEC.... OR private I know is three days....
and does anyone know of any origination that would run DNA for families that have missing children that would or could run them in a timely manner....
Just wondering........?

I know I sound like a broken record: however - re: Christina Lynn Carter, 3 year old daughter of Janet Gail Calhoun Carter --- mother and child were
last seen in Hueytown Alabama; janet was found dead at clingman's dome - janet grew up at a children's home in winston salem northcarolina -- there is a Freedom Village shopping center that was there in the 60s and 70's as well - in CHarlotte NC which is about 70 or so miles south west of Winston Salem. Charlotte is also about 100 or so miles east of Clingman's dome - and they are all on major connecting highways. I'm beginning to feel psychic but I sure hope Matt Birkbeck is checking this one.

Does anyone have a photo of Christina Carter? I have never been able to find one!!!!

I agree that Christina Carter should be looked into more closely. Even a photo of her mom Janet Calhoun Carter might help. I can't find photos of either one. It seems like the dad would be searching for his daughter, but evidently he hasn't. Earlier on this thread this possibly just kind of fizzled out. Some of you who are great at sleuthing should follow this up as far as you can. I'm not that experienced at this.

I'm confused. According to your profile, this is only your 2nd post, and your first post doesn't give this info. Why would you think you sound like a broken record?

Well done Dublin! I really think the eyes look similar to Sharon's.

Thanks raindrops. I think her eyes/forehead look similar in the younger photo of Sharon (the one sitting on Floyd's lap).

I don't suppose anyone has ever found a photo of the father, Lindsay Carter? I've done a bit of a search but not come up with anything.
