Case History: The remains were discovered buried under/beside a tree near a residence close to Wilburton, OK. A bulldozer operator was removing the tree from the yard and a plastic bag containing the remains were found.

This is an interesting one.

The remains are clearly not historical since they were contained in plastic, so post-WWII.

And the tree - how old was it? Who planted it? Could the remains have been buried with the tree in situ or was the tree planted over them? How long have the present owners owned the land?

Timothy Howard Smith? He was reported missing in 1985 and according to his mother was trying to make his way from Duncan OK to Tennessee. This UID was found in the vicinity of roads on one of the potential routes. (Namus says investigation shows he may have been killed in Duncan, however).
