Old Windows From Drew Peterson's old house selling on E-Bay

I thought it was against EBay policy to sell murderabilia? Someone who is a member really ought to flag that listing!
The windows weren't involved in a murder, or where they evidence.

In murderabilia it doesn't have to be evidence. It is anything that once belonged to an infamous person or sold with relation to the murder. For instance several murderers have sold paintings, some have sold some of Duncan's letters (that didn't contain info about the murders.) At one point there was a big stink about it because quite a few items were showing up on EBay. Finally EBay made an announcement that they would no longer be allowing the sale of murderabilia.

Cracking Down on "Murderabilia"
In 2001, Kahan also successfully pressured eBay.com to drop "murderabilia" listings.

I believe the violation is covered under this section of their terms of service

Sellers may not list items that promote or glorify hatred, violence, racial or religious intolerance, or items that promote organizations with such views.

Examples
snip... eBay may also, in its discretion and out of respect for the families of murder victims, remove listings of items closely associated with individuals notorious for committing murderous acts within the last 100 years, such as personal belongings of such criminals, letters or artwork created by such criminals, or novelty items that bear the name or image of the criminal.

I saw the listing and think this individual is really trying to make money off the demise of the 3rd wife of Drew Peterson. Who in their right mind would want anything associated with Peterson????????????? Not me, I can't stand to look at him on T.V. He is the biggest joke since Scot Peterson.

Today someone asked the eBay seller a question about the windows being from the house where Kathleen died. The sellers says these are not from the house where Kathleen died/murdered.

However I still feel the same way..the seller is still trying to make money
On the death of Kathleen..if she hadn't died /murdered these windows would be worthless.

I thought it was the new owners of the home who were now selling the windows and trying to capitalize on the fact that they were coming from the Peterson home?

Doesn't Ebay have some policy about not selling murder related items? Someone should flag the posting.

IF someone already answered this, please disregard, but it's quite clear these windows aren't "murder related" as they came from a house that Drew and Kathleen lived in BEFORE they moved into the home in which Kitty was murdered in.

Murderabilia are collectibles from, by, or about murders, murderers, or other violent crimes.

When they attached DrewP's name to it, it kinda puts it in the murderabilia category. Obviously if he said John Doe's windows it wouldn't have the same value. The only loophole there might be is that DrewP has not been charged with murder yet.

Not long ago there was a big stink because J. Duncan was writing letters to persons outside the prison- there was no mention about the murders he did. Those letters went up for sale. Then there was mentions of murderabilia being available on EBay. Some states have now enacted laws against placing items for sale and attaching the name of a murderer, victim or otherwise attaching the items to a criminal act. EBay made murderabilia against their terms of service.

But if Kathleen hadn't died suspiciouly and if Drew wasn't under suspision in the disappearance of Stacy..these windows would have no value other then old used windows. The fact that Drew Peterson's name is connected to them is what makes them have any value at all to the bidders.

And I still believe that is making money off the alledged crimes of Drew, at the expense of Kathleen and Stacy.

Although the sale of these windows is definitely tacky, I don't think it violates Ebay's terms of service. Mr. Peterson has not been charged with anything, so it is still just speculation on our parts that murder is involved. Therefore I don't think this falls under the murderbilia category.

In this case, ebay would probably use their own discretion in determining whether to pull it or not.

I agree with most of the posters, this guy is very insensitive and sick..I don't care what reason he's giving, the fact that he's doing this indicates he has issues. It's disrespectful to Kathleen's memory and to her family. I hope the $85 he receives for the windows helps him sleep better at night.
