The Wenatchee Police Department is asking for assistance in locating three juvenile females believed to be missing and unable to return home on their own. All three were last seen around 5pm on Friday May 30, 2025, as they left their home with the father for their planned visitation. They have not retuned and contact cannot be made with the father.

The father, Travis Decker, is homeless and living in his vehicle or at various hotels/motels or at campgrounds in the area. The visitation was part of a parenting plan, but he has since gone outside the parameters of it which is not normal and cause for the alarm.

The current investigation has not met AMBER Alert criteria, but the situation being monitored closely. However, an Endangered Missing Person Alert (EMPA) has been issues through the Washington State Patrol.

Please be on the look out and call 911 or RiverCom at 509-663-9911 if located.

From the above link:

“Law enforcement agencies are narrowing their search for Travis Decker, a father accused of killing his three children, after reportedly tracking him to the Blewett Pass/Highway 97 area in Washington state.

According to FOX 13 Seattle, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from hikers who spotted someone alone in the Enchantments area. The person appeared unprepared for the conditions and seemed to be avoiding others. Tracking teams responded and located a off-trail hiker from a helicopter near Colchuck Lake. The person reportedly ran out of sight as the helicopter flew over.

In response, additional resources, including K9 units, were deployed, and traced the person to Ingalls Creek Trailhead area on Highway 97.”

I start to get the feeling that they have lost his track. But don’t know what’s going on on the ground, of course.

There is a private(?) helicopter up there right now - for many hours already, circling over a different area. Way less helicopters than yesterday, but it’s also early morning only.

Edit: That helicopter is currently not visible. But I now see another one likely making its way to the area.

Thank you for that update about the helicopters. This is really interesting.

I have hiked the West Coast Trail (Canada), a very difficult trail requiring tide knowledge, shoots and ladders over cliffs, creeks, etc. Pace was around 6 miles per day but not in any hurry, of course. Had a friend who hiked the Camino (Spain), and one day he logged 36 miles (easier trail). Decker is male, prime of life, physically fit, military speciality training. So, take your pick on mileage.

I found this statement odd from a People article early this morning, as it appears to contradict earlier reporting that the girls were found about 100' from the campsite down an embankment.

Of course both could be true... the tent could have been set up down the embankment with the girls inside. Or perhaps they were wrapped in a tent.

"Inside a tent nearby, they made a grim discovery: all three sisters, deceased."

IMO.

If he's around Blewett Pass and 97, he might just be lost or have no plan. He's going south. Not a route to Canada.

Yes I was following that helicopter. It had been doing a circular path for quite a few hours.

How long can an average helicopter stay in the air without refuelling?

I read the People’s article and there are a few errors in it. For example, the article stated the Deckers were going through a divorce at the time of the incident as well. And, we know from court documents they were already divorced.

Interesting, my friend literally just got back from doing the Camino walk/hike in Spain too :)

I am hoping TD's clarity declines and the stress and "reality" kicks in and maybe he'll get confused in those woods and start going in circles or something. People get lost in the woods easy enough, I am curious his mental state at this time.

From earlier links posted, I am happy to read, if this is Decker, he is "ill prepared" for hiking. I was initially in the camp he offed himself and then worried when I read that he may have prepped for an escape. I hope he's suffered and suffering...jmo

Tracking teams now believe they are "on Decker's trail," the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said in a media release. Officials said the subject believed to be Decker has been tracked to the Blewett Pass/ Highway 97 area.

The sheriff's office received a tip from a party of hikers who said they saw a lone hiker who appeared to be ill-prepared for trail and weather conditions in the Enchantments area. The party also reported that the hiker appeared to be avoiding others

Colchuck Lake in Washington

Investigators were able to track the suspicious person via helicopter hiking off-trail near Colchuck Lake. The hiker ran out of sight of the helicopter. Additional teams were able to track the person with K-9 units near the highway

Does anyone here know if the tracking dogs used up there tend to be more or less successful?

I know in past cases in general, these dogs have been hit or miss and their accuracy tends to vary based off environment and the training those specific dogs are given. We've had some cases where dogs miss someone 4 feet away, some where a dog ends up tracking a fugitive for miles to where they are ultimately found. I guess I'm just curious of the likelihood that the dogs get confused with all the different scents out there (+wildfire smoke, other hikers, how difficult the terrain appears to be) and lead the police away from where they should be searching..?

I can't even imagine the paranoia he must be having out there. Every single noise spooks him, he's probably not sleeping or eating well, dehydrated, the memories of his daughters haunting him, realizing he's gonna have to make the decision soon to either end his life (and this is it. this is what his life adds up.) or get caught, face what he did, take accountability, and everyone see him as a failure (in many ways) for the rest of his life... Hell on earth.
