Interesting how he dodges the question about how Burke felt about the trip. They didn't ask him if Patsy was excited or not. They asked about Burke.

Sure, but they still went to Charlevoix, that was not postponed, there was just a schedule change, allegedly JR felt too lazy to move stuff to Charlevoix, although easily done by some private company, presents all stored out of sight, etc.

I'm suggesting JR may have had an ulterior motive for the schedule change. If Patsy is on board with the staging then she will back up JR claims, no?

Exactly what I've been saying for years. The business appointment was fabricated on the fly. Due to the stress of the situation and/or due to his desperation in trying to think of a way to get out of town, he foolishly made up a business meeting that could not possibly have existed considering the family had planned to fly that very day to spend the Christmas holiday in Michigan.

Even had the business meeting existed, (and we know it didn't), what father in his right mind insists on attending one when his young daughter has just been found dead in the house? Nobody on earth would expect him to keep an appointment under those circumstances.

No father whose child has been killed by some unknown intruder wants to flee town, in my opinion. Instead wild horses couldn't drag him away while he waited and hoped for an arrest of the perpetrator to be made quickly. A father who doesn't know who killed his child, and a father who isn't trying to cover up for who killed his child, would be demanding justice. He'd be going on TV begging the public to turn in any info they might have on a potential suspect. He'd be hounding the police investigators every day wanting to know where the case stood and if they had any suspects.

What he WOULDN'T be doing is making up phony business meetings that never existed. What he WOULDN'T be doing is trying to put as much distance as possible between his family and the police.

LE would have known quickly that the business meeting in GA was bogus. However, I am not aware of any past or recent interviews in which he was confronted with this blatant uncharacteristic stupid lie, and asked to explain it. Was this brought up before the GJ?

They had family in Atlanta. Yes, he wants to fly to Atlanta for funeral arrangements. It's certainly more logical than thinking he wanted to fly there for some corporation meeting. Oh, by the way, everyone, except for the police, had to leave the scene.

It is my understanding that JR stated he had a business meeting in Atlanta when he placed a call to his pilot approx. 36 minutes after finding JB dead. Detective Bill Palmer overhears the call. John says he has an important meeting that he can't miss, until the detective informs him that he can’t leave town.
What makes this interesting is they were supposed to be in Michigan having Christmas with his older children. There was no business meeting that he could not miss.

If you ask me, I think he was trying to get someone else out of the limelight before they said something that didn't need to be said. Someone who may not have actually said much but was high risk of cracking. JR was a highly skilled executive, trained to identify risks and mitigate it.

JR allegedly wanting to fly to Atlanta for funeral arrangements is nonsense. Check the subsequent timeline, i.e. the R's never knew when JonBenet's body would be released!

How much more would they know on the other end of a phone from Atlanta?


JR was fleeing Boulder and Colorado state enroute to any other location that might avoid arrest and charges.

If he was not fleeing Boulder why did BPD tell JR he was going nowhere?

JR finds JonBenet then wants to flee interstate to Atlanta, this tells you everything you want to know regarding JR's state of mind at this point in time!

What you do know is that JR was willing to leave JonBenet behind, pickup BR and flee Boulder.

If the staging had gone the way the Ramsey's had planned then JonBenet would have been left behind to decompose in the wine-cellar.
