The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance locating a man wanted in a sexual assault and choking investigation.

On Sunday, August 9, 2020, at approximately 3:40 p.m., officers responded to a call for sexual assault in the Sentinel Road and The Pond Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a 22-year-old woman met a man known to her

- the man threatened to release private information unless she paid him money

- he both sexually assaulted her and assaulted her

- the man fled

- police were called and the woman was taken to hospital by officers

Seth Ramanand, 23, of Burlington, is wanted for:

1) two counts of Extortion
2) Assault
3) two counts of Sexual Assault
4) two counts of Overcome Resistance by Choking
5) Mischief Under $5000

He is described as 5'6", 140 lbs., with short black hair, brown eyes, and is clean shaven. He has a rose tattooed on his shoulders, the letter 'V' tattooed on his right elbow, "1997" on his left wrist, and two skeletons tattooed on his abdomen.

He may be driving a 2020 black Jaguar F-Pace SUV with licence BZFN 807.

Police search for suspect accused of sexually assaulting, attempting to extort woman near York University
''Toronto police say they are trying to locate a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted and attempted to extort a woman near York University last weekend.

Police allege that on Sunday afternoon, a 22-year-old woman met a man she knew in the area of Sentinel Road and The Pond Road.

Police say during the interaction, the man threatened to release private information about the woman unless she paid him money.

At one point, police allege the man sexually and physically assaulted the woman before fleeing the area.

The woman contacted police and was taken to hospital by officers.''
