Thanks Skittles, that one is working better. Who is testifying?

On the mark, SG -- Just what I had been thinking all along -- that would be the ONLY reason he would have cleaned up anything -- making the garage have enough room for a car for just a short time. I just don't see him doing any work around the house -- and it is a bit understandable since he is the one going to work each day. "Her" jobs and "his" jobs.... and ne'er the twain shall meet .... except when it comes to post-homicide time, then it's clean, clean, hide, clean, vacuum, wipe, etc., etc. Quite the housekeeper, IMO. :maddening:

Except the defense said in opening arguments that the garage was still too cluttered to fit a car.

Sorry you guys, did I miss anything from the man who found her?

No, none of this (or the subsequent witnesses) deal with Brad. It's just establishing finding the body and the condition it was in, etc.

I hope people will continue to post what is going on in the courtroom for all us folks who are not able to listen while working.

I think we should move back to the Trial Proceedings thread. Opening statements are complete.

Not unexpected considering yesterday's luke warm performance, based on the openings alone, the defense hit it out of the park. Of course the evidence that unfolds is what counts. I still think Brad is guilty, but I now have my doubts there will be a conviction. I think some jurors will hang on some reasonable doubt. Sure hope the state has the smoking gun hidden somewhere.

It doesn't look like she is wearing a necklace in this picture.

Well, you are right.
However, this pic was taken the summer of 2007.
Nancy bought the necklace 11/2007 ;)

SO, you are prepared to ADMIT UNDER OATH that there WERE times when she WAS NOT WEARING THE NECKLACE. Is that your testimony here today?

:cool::eek:

Kina hard to wear a necklace you didn't actually own yet! ;-)

Forgot to mention that the defense brought up the rumor about Brad purchasing bleach on the morning of 7/12/08 in their opening (along with the rumor of the 4:20am store visit)

That rumor was started on Websleuths. I remember it very clearly. And then a Canadian reporter asked Cary Police Chief Bazelton at the press conference about it and she said she could neither confirm nor deny any information about the purchase of any cleaning products. People took that to mean there was some kind of secret (wink-wink) confirmation of Cooper's activities.

But nope. It was a rumor, it was untrue (the bleach part and the time), and there was no secret confirmation being given by the police chief.

This is why it's very important to not spread rumors.

Yes, this poster started that false rumor and caused quite a stir.

momto3kids:
"I have a strong feeling her husband Brad has something to do with this. The police are in possession of a video with Brad early Saturday morning at a local store. He told the police he went to get milk and bread at 6am. The video has Brad buying detergent with bleach and/or bleach actually purchased at 4am. redacted statement I feel this is a cruical piece of evidence indicating something had occured."

I'm quite surprised they didn't mention her necklace during opening statements. This is huge, IMHO. Nancy was known to never take off that necklace...ever. And it was found in a desk (possibly Brad's desk) inside the residence. It was something she would have worn at the party the night before and probably seen/noticed at least by a few women there (we women notice such things). That they didn't even bring it up has me wondering why.

They sure didn't cover much in their opening...it was much more brief than I expected it would be. All of 30 or 40 min.

At the 14:40 or so time here Diana speaks of jewelry and doesn't mention the necklace. Only ring and earrings. Doesn't remember necklace.

I'm sure they'll elicit testimony from others who did notice.
