No offense to Websleuthers who like O., but I can't stand the woman. Seems like everything she says or does is just to draw attention to her, and only her. This is the same IMO, but probably is some family issue or discovery, which will draw even more attention. Maybe she's pregnant in later life, but that's not reuniting. She could have found out that she was given to or abducted by people she thought were her family, but weren't.

I kind of agree with you. I used to enjoy her show, except when they had singers and the camera would pan to her singing along with tears in her eyes or whatever.

Then, one day she had this clothes show, I think it was one where they had designer clothes vs. identical lower-cost clothes. They showed an $800 sweater and she piped up, "I CAN AFFORD THAT!!" sort of tee-hee, gloating. Now how many of her viewers could afford an $800 sweater? I thought it was really insulting or something. Maybe insulting is not the right word. But she really lost me after that.

The Angel Network used to bug me, too. I mean, as rich as she is, and she is begging poor people to give pennies to charity. Give me a break.

I still watch her show if the topic is of interest to me, and I do think she asks good questions and can get to the heart of a matter.

A stepsister? Are U kidding me? Woo hoo and all that jazz. Nothing important about that at all (unless you're the step-sister...then cha-ching)!

As one of my husband's favorite clients likes to say:

Whoopee do dah.

(no, English is not his first language, and the accent makes it that much funnier when he says it.)

Gayle is her daughter...:)

It is now going around the web that it is her HALF-sister that will be on the show. Seems Oprah's mother gave up a child named Bunny, for adoption.

Why can't she keep things private? Everything in her life is a BOMBSHELL. Great, a half-sister...happy for her...move on. Oh wait - the ratings...forgot about that ;)

Next?

CHICAGO — An emotional Oprah Winfrey says that one of the most impressive things about a Milwaukee woman's discovery that the two are half-sisters is that the woman never tried to take advantage of her or sell her story.

"Over the years, Oprah Winfrey has made a name for herself by surprising her viewers with revelations and awesome gifts, often quite loudly and with great fanfare. Now, it seems to be her turn to receive a shocking surprise. You get a long-lost secret sister, and you get a long-lost secret sister! And a pashmina wrap.

This morning, Oprah revealed during a taping of her show that she recently learned of the existence of a half-sister now living in Milwaukee.'

The woman has known for some time that she was kin to Oprah and didn't cash in on it, so Oprah should have taken that as a cue that the woman didn't want public attention. Sadly, Oprah's mom didn't want contact with the lady when she found out the she was searching for her (the mother).. you know that had to hurt like hell, and now Oprah is going to air that hurt?

First, I thought Oprah and her mother were close? Her mother never told her she gave a child up for adoption? Seems strange. Also, I am sure that Patricia never needed to cash in. I am sure Oprah has compensated her greatly for her silence :) I wonder if she felt like she won the lottery when she found out who here sister was.

LOL! I told my husband tonight that Oprah has a long lost half-sister, and before I could finish the sentence, he blurted out, "I hope it's you!"

I found out a couple of years ago that I have a long-lost half-brother that was put for adoption about ten years before I was born. I've been searching ever since... but no luck.

I'm glad for Patricia and Oprah that they have found each other. What a blessing!
