I was also thinking that KS is the one who purchased the bus ticket.

yosande,
I'm having trouble following what you think happened. Let me see if I have your theory correct...

Do you think Kelly Somerson and Katie Walker are different people? And that Kelly traveled from Chicago to leave Katie on the side of the Walker Road?

I'm confused.

Yes I think ks and kw are different people, and ks bought tickets for kw from Chicago to Albany Oregon with cash, possibly so she couldn't be traced. KS put KW on a bus in Chicago, and simply walked away, unless KW lost her cell phone along with her id in the tote bag that is missing, but wouldn't KW be frantic by not being able to hear from granny?
I don't know why KW walked the way she did, and left the city. It's a long way from the bus/train station to where she was found. It's a coincidence that the next road she was to reach had she not been found would have been Walker Road, which to me is a bit strange. Perhaps she lived on that Walker Road at some point in her life, and she was "going home" perhaps not. It's just strange that someone from Maine of all places would end up 3,000 + miles from where she says she lives. She is being somewhat uncooperative with LE so we don't have all the information, nor do they. She says she has no family, but then who is KS? Do you think KW and KS are the same person?

DoeNet has created a casefile for this woman.

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/867ufor.html

Thanks for doing this. The case note surprised me and I no longer have a strong sense that this is all due to memory loss. I do wonder if there is an element of other health issues such mental health issues?

I wonder too if she got someone else to make the bookings under a incorrect name not necessarily on purpose but done all the same. Does anyone else think that she is purposely closing her eyes pretending to be asleep or is it just me? However I do hope he ID is known very soon.

Linn County detectives have identified the woman found wandering east of Albany on May 15 as Marcia Lee Rackley, 67, of Yorktown, Va.
Rackley suffers from severe mental illness, according to her family, and when she doesn’t take her medication is prone to wandering, boarding buses or trains, and traveling without identification.

Might be time for a pair of alzheimer's shoes. Or to tattoo her name on her arm. Man, she's crafty!

I just hope she get the support she needs to remain safe.

Can you believe how she got all the way across the country before anyone questioned what she was doing?

I'm so happy with the Linn County Sheriff's Department! I'm going to toot their horn for a second here.

Letting you guys know that I happen to know a bit about this department and they are A W E S O M E. They check out EVERY call. They follow up EVERY call. They take their jobs seriously AND they are just a bunch of great people! Knowing them, I'll bet they are all very happy tonight!

And if any deputies are reading here, yes, I know the story about the deputy who tased the elk! :floorlaugh: Got to hear it from the horse's mouth! :kimsterwink:

That's amazing (that she's been ID'd fairly quickly).

I do have to ask, was she reported missing? If so, what fell thru the cracks?

I don't think so. If I'm reading the MSM reports correctly, her sister didn't know she was missing.

I was thinking one of those never-come-off ID bracelets.

If this woman is this badly off, and doesn't have people checking on her multiple times a day, she really needs to be in an Alzheimer's unit or the like---someplace with heavy duty security and those special locking doors. Thank goodness this had a happy ending!

I hope she wasn't running from an abusive situation. Did her relatives report her missing? ?? Am glad she has been identified and I hope she gets the help she needs, but maybe they should check to be sure she wasn't being abused. Maybe not so much physically, but mentally; and it's seen in the elderly so frequently. imo

And that happens...how?

Apologies...but I have a huge compassion for every single person on this planet to have at least one person who cares about them and is diligent (while respecting boundaries and having respect for the other person's independence).

How sad if she or anyone else does not have this.

She feels like someone who drifted away and no one cared enough to check on her.
