Identified! OR - Albany, WhtMale body in Willamette River, Apr '14 - Jared Brown

The body of a white male was partially submerged about ten feet from the shore. Moderate decomposition suggests it had been in the river some time, according to the release.

UID is approx 6'2" to 6'4" with short grey hair and beard, found by a family hiking near Bryant Park in Albany.

Hmm, considering the height, that should narrow things down a bit. I wonder how long they think he had been deceased? I saw two people who fit the height, Gregory Johnson and Robert Hardison. GJ did not have gray hair, but did have a mustache and hasn't been missing too long. RH has been missing since December 2012, has gray hair but it was longer and no beard. Obviously he could have shortened his hair and grew a bears in that time frame. Both are fairly close to where the body was found.

I wonder if this looks like an accident, a homicide or even a suicide?

Police said Jared Ethan Brown was reported missing last month to Corvallis Police Department after leaving a bus that was travelling to Portland from Roseburg.

I feel bad I didn't hear about him being missing before now. I try to keep up on the more local cases, at least.
