The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Squad is asking for the public’s help in solving an unsolved homicide.

The unit is looking for credible information on a case which occurred in 1977.

Barbara Soper, age 35, was a night clerk at the 7-Eleven store located at 1236 NW Garden Valley Blvd, which in 1977 was in unincorporated Douglas County. The store is no longer in existence and the space is now occupied by Walgreens.

In the early morning hours of January 13th, 1977, Soper was at work and made a call for help. During the call, voices could be heard in the background. When police arrived, she was found murdered behind the checkout counter.
