Not that I disagree, but you have to keep in mind this is happening in a college town so sometimes odd things go on. For instance people get duct taped to walls or "borrow" couches from dorms to put them on skateboards and ride them down hills... I am not trying to say these things are normal or good things to do, just that a boxer short guy in a college town might not an incident of the same magnitude as it would be in say...Portland. Although I certainly wouldn’t rule out the idea that he was some sort of pervert or something...I also wouldn’t rule out the idea that it was some sort of fraternity prank or dare...it did occur around the time new pledges would be getting initiated.

I guess what I am trying to say is that since Corvallis is a college town, a large portion of the population is young and...well...for lack of a better word, crazy. As a result you get events that are intended to be in good fun, but that would be highly suspicious in any other environment. Like I said, not trying to excuse or downplay it, just another possible spin.

As far as Evans and Kim…well those are most definitely sick individuals! Like everyone else, I hope they find Brooke soon. It makes me sick to think how long its been.

Check out www.crimenews2000.com, they are now reporting this story and the police's suspicions. Wow, great detective work. Thanks. I think this is the same guy.

I can't seem to get this article. Could you please locate it for me? I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

It was hard to find Angel, but it just a thread, not unlike this one that is talking about Brooke. At one point they mention this article

http://www.gtconnect.com/articles/2004/10/13/news/community/wedloc02.txt

So click on here and you can read the article. I am dying to know if this is the same incident that you witnessed while visiting your daughter in Corvallis.

Please let us know Angel.

Thanks Anngelique. I was able to read the article and YES - it is exactly the same guy!! Same car, same parking lot, same day, same time - everything.
He was parked RIGHT NEXT to my car!! Ugh! Creepy! And I have to tell you - both of us moms had that same reaction. A very creepy, disgusting feeling about this guy. And we were right on.
Make no mistake that they are keeping a very close eye on this guy. And looking into him as someone of interest in Brooke's disappearance.
Like I said, they had him detained right there for at least 2 hours. And then we had to leave and they were still there. Who knows how much longer he was there.

on www.crimenews2000.com not on the first page loaded but scroll down to bottom and click more news. Second page for yesterday.

I still can't believe we got the news first straight from you, great work and perception.

I believe this Evans guy though is looking pretty guilty about Brookes disappearance though. But you never know, til you know.

Keep us updated, south carolina doesn't have the news focused on this situation.

Wow, nice work angel! I guess it was wishful thinking to hope that it wasn’t yet another pervert loose on the streets of Corvallis :(

You know, God works in mysterious ways. He put me right there at that time to witness that for some purpose - what purpose though I do not know!

I thought it was interesting that the officer refused to tell me what they were questioning this guy about.
Well.... now we know.

ohhhhhhh - you were at *that* Starbucks!! I was thinking you were probably downtown. That is really, really weird and must have completely creeped you out. I told my husband the other day that I'm not too sure about going to hang out at that shopping center by myself anymore - seems to be a magnet for freaks & perverts. I guess it seems scarier because this is such a small town and feels so safe. I'm sure that when I lived in Houston I was surrounded by freaks & pervs and didn't even know! Anyway, thanks everyone for your updates and (very active!!) sleuthing!

this guy fits the profile of the type of abductor that abducted brooke he is a stalker type and when the opertunity arises he pounces out of hiding onto his prey. if he isn't the on that is responsible for brooke then they have gotten one off the road that is much like the one that got brooke. I feel though that the kid is the one they have been looking for. just need more info about him. the story that his sister told police when he came home about the time brooke went missing he had bruises on him a cut lip and scratches on him. that is a person that had just done something bad. I bet all of that came from the fight that brooke put up against him. she would have certainly been a challenging fight against him. she looks to me that she would be a stronge fighter. time will only tell now...

Annem, you can't always tell a pervert or killer by a freakish appearance. Remember Ted Bundy? Bundy was always close shaved, neatly dressed, nice looking, a guy you thought you could bring home to Mom. There are a lot of these guys out there. I'd be more concerned with a guy in a parking lot asking you directions than with freaks walking around a mall.

Hello Followers of Brooke's Story....

I know I have mentioned in the past about finding out about the Find Brooke
buttons from Jarod, Brookes brother-in-law. Well, is seems they have moved a new direction to pink bracelets, similar to the yellow "livestrong" bracelets benefitting Lance Armstrong.

I will be at the high school and may be able to catch up with Jerod to see how I can get some....I will post once I get the info!

  • #333
OMG, I just saw your post Lynie, and thought maybe they had learned what happened to her! Thanks for the news on the bracelets. If you can get some I will wear one for her. Let me know the cost, OK?

Don't you think it seems like an agonizing amount of time since she has been gone? I would think they would know something by now. Maybe they do but are keeping it very quiet. I sure hope so. Feel like I am talking to an empty room! LOL

Family hopes to get Brooke's face back in the spotlight

Corvallis, Ore. - Five months have passed since anyone has seen Brooke Wilberger and today her family hopes to renew public awareness about the woman's disappearance.
Brooke's family plans to hold a news conference this afternoon to update the search for the missing 19-year-old college student.

They also plan to release information about a new way to generate tips and leads in the investigation.

Police have received hundreds of tips in the case, but nothing solid enough to lead them to the missing woman.

Thanks Anngelique,

I just saw a nice spot about Brooke and what they are now doing to try to generate more tips, on CNN Headline News. Thanks for kjeeping us posted :blowkiss:

Another girl in her 30's dissapeared from Albany yesterday. She was not from the area but rather down from the State of Washington. They found her empty car in a park, crashed into some big rocks and all of her personal dffects were still in the car. I heard something about suicide, but that is all. There might be more on the news tonight!

Hoping and praying they learn more about Brooke real soon. Her poor family. They were one great family I think. I think of them a lot and am so sorry they have made so little headway in finding their precious girl.

Yes, Scandi, but this woman left a suicide note as well. I don't think she was abducted at all from the info I have seen. I hope they find her though and it was not too late to help her.

Thanks Anngelique,

So sad isn't it. I also thought she wanted to take her own life.

Well just wanted to say Hi. What ever happened to the guy from Corvallis in the news industry who posted here for quite awhile ~ something with news in his nic, I think?

I hope something happens very soon to locate Brooke. This will be a trial I will want to follow.

Hey Anngelique, I read somewhere that Ward Weaver copped a plea and there will be no trial. Have you or anyone read about this. That would have been a trial for sure ~ on the order of Laci's. Just think about how he took those girls into his trust and then killed them both and buried them under concrete on his property, all the time with his own teen age daughter who was their friend, living all that time at his home.

Didn't mean to diverse, but we need to keep positive energy going for the investigators in Corvallis to help them in their quest. Sometimes it does take many months. Do you know how long it took before Dru Sjodin was found?

Yes, Ward copped a plea. It is over. He was sentenced to life in prison without a chance for parole. His daughter Malory begged him to do this. I listened and read the parents of the girls statements. I can't remember which mom, I think it was Miranda's, but boy, she let him have it. Her statement was like 6 pages long. I am glad they did not have to put the parents through a trial. The only thing is, I wish he would give the details. This is one of the things Miranda's mom was begging. She wanted to know when, how and why. She wanted to know if she suffered. It broke my heart to hear her pleaing with Ward. He looked totally unaffected.

Thanks Anngelique,

Yes, the last few times I've seen him he looked either tranquilized or totally gone upstairs. At least he won't hurt any more girls. I do so feel sorry for his daughter - God bless her in her life. These were her girlfriends. Can you imagine the trauma she has been through?

Is this big guy your's Anngelique? Why was he so sick? He is Totally Rad! LOL

He is my nephew Scandi and the healthy picture was him in Sept and the sick picture is him as of Saturday. He is up in Doernbecher's and barely hanging on. They don't know what caused his illness but he is one very sick little boy. You can go to the Jury Room and read more about it. I have his story posted under the thread, "More prayers needed" He IS a very sweet boy. We pray God will let him be our little miracle! But he has a very long road ahead of him.
