The State Department wants to know who he is and what he is hiding.

There is a photo of the man from 19-97.

He may be wearing a hair piece.

He likely vanished from his home in 1996.

He was likely between 17 and 25 then.

He may have an east coast accent and ties to Ohio.

The mystery man speaks some Spanish and is also a master chess player.

They believe he may have grown up in foster care and possibly went by the name Jason or Smiley.

What about the boy (and his sister) who went missing from Alaska (I think) many years ago? I can't remember enough details about that case to even go looking but I know that I read about it here on WS.

The children were abducted, and there was rampant speculation that the father took the children to Ohio but because he was so violent and secretive, the mother's family was afraid to confront him about it.

I know that some other WS'ers will recognize this story and will be able to pinpoint the child(ren) to which I am referring.

Is it possible that this man could have been that boy?

There is a resemblance to Scott, the eyebrows, eyes especially in the missing picture of Scott & the 1997 & 2000 pictures of 'Jason'. The mouth is thinner but it happens with aging and it would not be surprising to hear he was 45. What about the nose? idk The earlobes (a genetic feature) is hard to determine with the long hair on Scott and none of the pictures of 'Jason' show his teeth!

I am wondering if he has "volunteered" any DNA samples. I'm thinking it would be nice to submit them to see if any unsolved crimes have matching DNA. I think he could be older too. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's 40ish.

Wow, what if it is Johnny? I could understand him not wanting to reveal his identity if that's the case. The only thing is Johnny had really full lips. This Jason Evers has really thin lips. I know our lips thin as we age but I don't see them thinning that much.

Johnny was from Des Moines, Iowa, however. It doesn't seem possible that he would he have a Jersey accent, if he was already 12 when he was taken/relocated. It is heart wrenching reading Johnny's story though, how awful.

ETA: According to this story, the alias the traffickers gave to Johnny was "Mark." But who knows?

There's a 3" height discrepancy as well as questionable eye color (blue vs. brown) as well as no explanation for the Jersey accent or ability to speak Spanish, but DLI traveled extensively around the country and Canada and is intelligent, which would match "Evers." Both men have prominent chins. Activity on DLI's SSN ended in July 1995 and "Evers" is believed to have assumed his stolen identity the following May.

The man claimed to be Jason Robert Evers, a boy who was kidnapped and killed in Cincinnati in 1982 at age 3. Another man was convicted of the murder and sent to prison.
