"We were coming to the end of our assignment, and we came around a corner and we looked up, and we saw a lady standing there and we were all surprised," said Rogue Valley Search and Rescue team leader Rick Klimeck, "and I said, 'Is that her?' and her father said, 'Ashley!' and he ran to hug her."

Laird was reportedly disoriented and dyhdrated, but she was on her own two feet when she was found.

Interesting. I thought maybe she was hurt. Disoriented and dehydrated isn't good. I was wondering earlier if she was dehydrated.
I agree, how odd, but glad they found her!

Found in the 700 block of Jacksonville Reservoir Road. It's not all that far from Jacksonville.

Seems something must have happened to be so lost. I look forward to learning the details but for now I'm so relieved and happy to have good news.

Odd I agree.

Sounds like she was lost maybe?

Disorientation could be because of dehydration.

It seems almost like she was Bengals held and released or she was maybe sleeping and just woke up.
I'm just saying it would explain she was disoriented. I also wonder if she just couldn't get out of the forest.
I'm so happy that's she's found, safe.

All MOO!

Press conference. Interesting details on how/why they found her where they did, & more.

She did have a "tracking" watch, but left it at home. A member of SAR managed to get data from it which showed she'd run the trails (in the area she was found) before, & the team went to search there.

Seems she was very lucky that people were using every bit of creative thinking they had in order to find her. I am so surprised that she had no communication devices on her.

It's amazing that one of the SAR guys was able to get into her "watch" and find out that she had run that trail in the past. The Police Chief said that it's the only reason they went there to search! Plus, they were planning to scale back the search this evening if there were no solid leads because it was such a broad area. She is one very fortunate woman. Running alone is risky. I'm so glad Ashley made it OK.

We we lost a very popular male runner in Ashland, Todd Ragsdale, earlier this year. Running alone, it seems that he got sick on the trail and went down to the creek to clean up. He was found dead in the creek in about a foot of water. :(

Another runner (also alone) Alyssa McCrann of Portland has been missing since just before Christmas. Searches have been unproductive. :(

It seems she was found approximately 2.1 miles from where she started, but am not sure how far off the road she was found.
