Google Maps
Per the link, NF 5824 Is a long, winding trail road through dense woods with no obvious nearby residences. Lookout Pointe Lake is to the west, with Highway 58 running parallel to the lake itself. At the junction of NF 5824 and W. Boundary Road there is an opening directly to the lake.

The MSM and LE reports above indicate that "Bucher’s vehicle was located by an Oregon State Police Trooper on 12/04/23 in a wooded area near USFS Rd. 5824 off of Hwy. 58 between Westfir and Lowell" but we do not have an exact location.

Was Joseph perhaps known to frequent this general area? Wondering if his family knew of any plans he had for activities in this area? There's no mention of possible damage to his vehicle or what may have been found inside the vehicle.
