The boy's parents alerted the school when he didn't show up. He usually rides the bus, authorities said, but it's unknown if he did on Friday. <snipped>

He is being discussed on the scanner and I'll have that link up for everyone in a few minutes.

why is it 'unknown' whether he rode the bus?

have they interviewed the bus driver and other students?

do they know if he was at school and didnt make it home or did he never make it to school?

so little info

oh boy, this sounds weird...:(
who, I wonder, doesn't know if he rode the bus? I don't have kids but I think I would know if one that age got on his bus or didn't get on his bus...

Did he normally ride a bus home from school? Or walk?

Not enough relevant info in the article!

Was there any confirmation by anyone that he was actually seen at this science fair?

According to the Oregonian, he was at the fair with his mother. Not sure if they mean mother or step-mother? Information is still quite sketchy right now.

I have a hard time trying to figure out why a SECOND GRADER wasn't watched more closely by SOMEONE! I would have made sure someone knew he was at the fair and checked in at the school, KWIM?

Seven-year-old Kyron Horman was attending a science fair at Skyline Elementary School in northwest Portland, according to Matt Shelby, spokesman for Portland Public Schools. Kyron, who was with his mother at the fair that morning, never checked back in with his teacher afterward.<snipped>

This sounds like the stepmother is saying they were at this science fair. But, has anyone said they physically saw him?

Attending with his mother? And then did she leave after the fair? What a mess of reporting...sorry but this is so unclear..

Amber alerts have to have a solid vehicle description...I looked up criteria last week, the whole system is based upon vehicle abductions, it is specific to that.

Freefallzzz, I'm not available tomorrow but if they don't find him and do a search on Sunday, I can go up.

Let me know if something is planned tomorrow. I can probably go.
