No offense intended, nomoresorrow,but this investigation is not public so how in the world do we know what is real?

We don't know what anyone in the lives of Kyron have told investigators.

As an aside, if Kaine's email is for real (I'm behind, so I don't know if it has been publicly verified) I found it very suspicious that he would be asking his company co-workers NOT to speak to the media. First of all, who has the gall to tell people what to do, or even request that?

This doesn't mean that I think Kaine, Kyron's father, is guilty of anything but it makes me wonder what in the world motivated him to even issue such an email (if he did). It comes across as controlling and manipulative; not to mention, suspicious.

MY OPINION

I don't think the email from Kaine has been confirmed yet has it? One reason I can think of for him to tell co-workers not to talk to the media is if he was absent from work that day (or had a scheduled day off - or left early), he doesn't want people telling the press that because it could cause suspicion.

I believe it was reported that Kaine and Terrie both met the bus that afternoon. Did they usually do that? Was Kaine usually home at that time, or did he have a day off, or leave work early?

Why won't LE release ANY information, they are so tight with info I can hear them squeak when they walk .....

It has to be someone close, imo, because how can anyone help when they do not release anything ? You can't ... it is someone close to the family or someone in the family.
Anyone else have any ideas as to why they would be so quiet ?

Maybe there's a lot more to it. Peripherals involved? Need to tie up all loose ends to complete the case. I really feel like it's slowly heading to the top of the roller coaster, just about to drop down the big hill.

Typically if there is a missing child, the public needs photos of the child and as much information about them as possible, such as what they were wearing that day. Good point, if there was any suspicion by LE of the sm why would art work have anything to do with that, or selecting a soccer picture of him either, or putting replicas of his clothing out there. I am pretty sure the sm who has raised him, loved him, taken him to soccer, taken those pictures, bought and washed those clothes, and framed the artwork was already familiar with all of those things.

There was a open to the public Science Fair the day Kyron disappeared

Kyron was last seen by his SM at 8:45 am walking toward his class

School started late that day due to the science fair (10:00 am) and Kyron was marked absent.

That is all we have for a fact right ? Anybody please add to this if I have missed something but only for sure facts....TIA

My first thought when I saw the pictures of his glasses, clothing, and artwork was that LE is trying to make someone feel guilty and hasten a confession. My opinion only.... I also found this comment from the linked KATU article interesting:

Final Day of Skyline School Starts without Kyron

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The school year will come to an end Tuesday at Skyline School in northwest Portland without the presence of missing second-grader Kyron Horman.

As the school year comes to a close and the criminal investigation continues, friends of the Horman family will be holding a vigil at the Sunset Presbyterian Church at 14986 NW Cornell Road on Tuesday evening.

The vigil starts at 7 p.m. and the public is welcome to attend.

The photos of the clothing and especially of the glasses were pretty late getting out there to the public, which is a bit disturbing. But my question is how are photos of Kyron`s art going to help anyone find Kyron, why are they important to this case:waitasec:

For all we know his artwork that was shown could have been an assignment.

Like, class, draw a chipmunk or class draw a sun.

I don't know how much we can get from them. But, in my mind, there has to be a reason they were released by LE.

IMO, the sun was a copy or representation of something he found in a book, a mosaic, stained-glass, etc. For all we know, it may have been something drawn related to cultural studies.

AHHHH I'm trying to picture a crime of opportunity...someone sees the SM leaving and Kyron alone. But there must of been many other kids and parents in the school. Why risk it at that time??? There are tons of kids out on streets, parks etc much easier to take off with.

If this was a stranger perp and an opportunistic crime, all I can think of is that schools are where children are reliably located. Opportunistic predators constantly scan for opportunities and can be incredibly bold about seizing a chance.

Think about Adam Walsh. That should have been an extremely high risk situation, with so many people around. And yet, not one single eyewitness was ever found. People no doubt saw Adam in the ten minute window but no one remembered seeing him.

Riley Fox was abducted out of her own home in the middle of the night. With her six year old brother asleep in the same room, literally only feet from her. How could the perp have taken the chance that no one would wake up? It seems so unlikely but that is what happened.

Thinking way back to Ted Bundy, one of his victims was a high school girl he snatched in the parking lot during a school play. Her family was watching the play, there were people in and out of that parking lot constantly but no one noticed him there and no one saw her getting into his car. In part, no doubt, because she probably got in willingly; he was quite good at soliciting help in a believable manner.

Another one of Ted Bundy's victims was abducted when she was walking down an alley in a 150 foot gap between two very well attended parties. People at the one party remembered seeing her walk by alone, no one at the next party (which included people she knew) saw her. There was no way out of that alley that was unobserved that night but no one noticed that poor girl leaving with Ted.

Successful predators can succeed by taking risks no sane person would. For some of them, it works out amazingly well. Repeatedly.

His last sighting was approximately 9AM as per LE
His SM drove him to school that day
There was a talent show that afternoon

Thanks, matou and others who are delving into the WHY of this aspect of Kyron's case. Are we certain it was released by LE and not a media source? I am not doubting it, just behind in some aspects of this case as it hits the news.

We know that the family has a police captain living with them: "A sheriff’s captain will continue to stay with the family nearly around the clock as a liaison, Gates said Monday."

Did this officer find the artwork in the home, did the family volunteer it, or did it come from a teacher or other school official?

I agree, if LE released his artwork, they have a purpose in doing this. Maybe they want someone, such as the professional that is posting here with us to see it, to come forward and give them their impressions. Maybe, one of Kyron's parents has claimed it is Kyron's artwork, done by himself, and this is not true, and someone in the public may know this. Ties into conflicting stories about who helped Kyron with his project. Also, facts surrounding these pieces of artwork could be clues to the family dynamics and to their honesty.

Who knows, but there has to be a reason the artwork is out there.

More importantly (well, to me, anyway) is the strange fact that this couple has an officer with them at all times, in their home. Are LE worried for the safety of the baby, worried for the other children who visit the home, worried about evidence possibly being hidden or destroyed, or a possible suicide?

Are the Hormans free to ask this officer, or any law enforcement officer, from any agency, to leave their home?

At :50 in this video is LE (Gates) talking about releasing new photos that day (June 7) including photos of Kyron's artwork. (The other photo released is called Kyron Trucks.)

Watch what happens just after Gates says they're releasing the photos. It's when Gates cries and says "We're going to bring you home, buddy."

I wish we could find the textbooks used in 2nd grade curriculum at the school, including art, music,etc. I feel very strong that I have seen that drawing of the sun on a textbook cover but just can't quite put my finger on it.

I think the drawings selected could be a subtle form of a plea to someone to come forward. Or LE could have released them to humanize Kyron by picking some of his best drawings.

releasing the artwork is to humanize him on the slight chance he is being held by someone. Maybe Kyron will see them on the news .
They are not jeopardizing the investigation by releasing them and that is why other info is not released.
