This link above is about a true story that happened at a school I worked at in the summers as a C.I.T , let's just say I never went back the next summer. My friend also was her neighbor and got the "special package" from her. All schools were closed down in the area.

Sadly I'm starting to think we cant stop situations like this and like kyrons. I guess good parental education on safety is all we have and that may not even be enough. I just hope they find kyron soon.

At :50 in this video is LE (Gates) talking about releasing new photos that day (June 7) including photos of Kyron's artwork. (The other photo released is called Kyron Trucks.)

Watch what happens just after Gates says they're releasing the photos. It's when Gates cries and says "We're going to bring you home, buddy."

Thanks, matou and others who are delving into the WHY of this aspect of Kyron's case. Are we certain it was released by LE and not a media source? I am not doubting it, just behind in some aspects of this case as it hits the news.

We know that the family has a police captain living with them: "A sheriff’s captain will continue to stay with the family nearly around the clock as a liaison, Gates said Monday."

Did this officer find the artwork in the home, did the family volunteer it, or did it come from a teacher or other school official?

I agree, if LE released his artwork, they have a purpose in doing this. Maybe they want someone, such as the professional that is posting here with us to see it, to come forward and give them their impressions. Maybe, one of Kyron's parents has claimed it is Kyron's artwork, done by himself, and this is not true, and someone in the public may know this. Ties into conflicting stories about who helped Kyron with his project. Also, facts surrounding these pieces of artwork could be clues to the family dynamics and to their honesty.

Who knows, but there has to be a reason the artwork is out there.

More importantly (well, to me, anyway) is the strange fact that this couple has an officer with them at all times, in their home. Are LE worried for the safety of the baby, worried for the other children who visit the home, worried about evidence possibly being hidden or destroyed, or a possible suicide?

Are the Hormans free to ask this officer, or any law enforcement officer, from any agency, to leave their home?

Questions and my OPINIONS.

If you read other posts about this, it is fairly common to station a liasion with the family in high profile cases such as this. That is, at least, one explanation.

I'll bet the Portland Chamber of Commerce is hoping LE makes an arrest very soon...a lot of revenue is generated from zoo, parks, campgrounds, etc...with summer officially beginning today, if school is out all over Portland. I don't have any kids, but if I did, I think I would take them out of Portland if I was considering day or weekend trips, and not stay in the area...JMO. That is, if I believed there was a random offender on the loose. JMO.

Kyron is missing

There was a open to the public Science Fair the day Kyron disappeared

Kyron was last seen by his SM at 8:45 am walking toward his class

School started late that day due to the science fair (10:00 am) and Kyron was marked absent.

That is all we have for a fact right ? Anybody please add to this if I have missed something but only for sure facts....TIA

Riley Fox was abducted out of her own home in the middle of the night. With her six year old brother asleep in the same room, literally only feet from her. How could the perp have taken the chance that no one would wake up? It seems so unlikely but that is what happened.

The Riley Fox murder is sooo sad to me on so many levels. And then the father was coerced into confessing - while the real killer was right there the whole time. There are just so many senseless tragedies in the world.

I think it was just something to give to the media instead of information, which they sure were not going to give, just like on the weekend when they told about his favorite color etc...just things to keep the story alive without giving out anything at all. JMO

I agree. Particularly since they also released a third photo right along with the artwork.

I thought the same thing...guilt. But that does not have to mean it's an immediate family member. Those things would mean more to someone who knows Kyron well, more than a stranger. Those facts about him would mean the same. Again, though, such guilt and such closeness does not preclude a whole number of people. I don't believe they'd have any affect on a total stranger who took a child...how many are really ever returned? Then again, even someone close, if they could harm a child, probably wouldn't feel too much guilt.

Rumors and comments are just that rumors and comments from anonymous people posting on the web.

Could some of it be true? Sure, but I don't see that happen very often and I follow a lot of cases. As a matter of fact I rarely see any of that turn out to be true.The ones posted and/or kept as "secrets" and not posted in the Caylee Anthony forums were rich and oh so wrong!


So here is the dealio.

if you guys want to generally discuss comments left on other sites that is fine provided:
1. You link to the source but do not carry any posts here to this forum.
2. Every single time you discuss one of these comments you make it clear as a bell that it is an unfounded rumor. Otherwise people stop in, pick up a little info and spread it as fact because that is what is people typically expect to be posted here.

I am going to ask the moderators of this forum to keep a close eye on the rumor discussions and if they become too much work for the mods or people are careless in their posting, then that will be the end of it and all rumors will be off limits. I have asked them to shut it off if there are any problems at all.

Let others know ( nicely please) if they seem to be violating,because it is the responsibility of each of you to keep up with the rules as they change.


Those of you that prefer to discuss that available facts, just scroll by any of the gossip chatter.

IMO, the sun was a copy or representation of something he found in a book, a mosaic, stained-glass, etc. For all we know, it may have been something drawn related to cultural studies.

I agree. That picture looks so familiar to me. The closest I've found is the aztec sun stone. It screams 'school assignment' to me. That he, along with the other children, were assigned to copy/draw from a specific picture.

Weird things do happen but at this point I see these main possibilities:

1. He was was killed by his SM, accidentally or not (see #3).

2. He was abducted then killed or is still being kept captive like Shawn Hornbeck or Jaycee Dugard.

3. He was accidentally run over in the parking lot and whoever did it panicked and hid his body.

4. He wandered away and wound up in a very, very densely overgrown area that somehow the exhaustive search missed.

Obviously #4 is the one that LE has pretty much ruled out but I think there is still a remote chance it happened that way. I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe any of the other three have been ruled out.

All we are asking on this forum is for care and respect to be shown before throwing a family under a bus.A family that has a missing 7 year old.

We are not asking you to ignore behavior, statements to the press or anything else the family says or does. Feel free to discuss what you see and think. Link facts and stop rumors, that's what we like to do.

If you feel censored here then please post at a forum where they do not moderate and you can say anything you like. We do moderate and some people like it and some people don't. We know we cannot please everyone and so we do not try. We stay true to what we think is right and for now not accusing the family is in line with LE and that is the tact we will take. You can be suspicious of whomever you choose, just be cautious in your posting. As always it is not ok to sleuth family members on this board until they have been named as a POI or a suspect or LE leads us to believe they are being considered actively.

As always, if this changes we will roll with it and we will adjust. But to lay out a families personal affairs at this time is just wrong. There will be plenty of time to investigate if things change and often they do.






You guys are doing an awesome job of this. We have been able to civilly discuss different angles and thought processes without crossing the line.

I really hope this gets resolved. And I need to get on with my life - I am so emotionally involved in this poor little boy's situation, for some reason. The police really seem to be looking for something in particular. And all this info about what Kyron was wearing makes me think that they're expecting some of his belongings to either wash up somewhere, or that maybe even the person who took him has kept something of his as a trophy.

One random theory I have is that someone older at the school seized an opportunity. But maybe that person has protectors at the school ...

BeanE I am going back to look from the start, it is what I have seen in every article so far but I will see if early on LE made the statement ....

ETA:

Kyron and his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, had come to school that morning to attend a science fair. Around 8:45 a.m., Kyron left his stepmom and headed to class. But police say the second-grader never made it.

Police now believe Kyron was seen by someone on school grounds as late as 9 a.m. They have not specified the nature of the source
