Also, I should add that the same person who made those suggestions of do's and don'ts for talking to media is the same person who owns the church where the press conferences have been taking place and also the person who started the Missing Kyron Horman facebook group. People in small communities definitely come together in times of crisis!

the owner if the church, who posted not to talk about certain things (http://srnpdx.org/current_newsline)

with media, also WROTE this article

I feel like we are constantly getting conflicting information about what we can post.

Sometimes we hear we can't quote blogs, and many sites are off limits, don't post links to those, but it is ok to paraphrase, just no cut and paste, now you say we have to post links to blogs, is it just me? Or are others confused as well?

Should I have posted the link to the lady who said she used to attend Skyline and knows about the parking? I don't really see that as rumor grist material. Or was it ok the way I did that? Because I can go back and get it. I know her username was Jebus and she posted it around 11:00 pm last night.
well I don't think there has been conflicting info and that kind of ticks me off.
I have been sitting here for 72 hours trying to help clarify by posting the information and being as consistent as possible.

Kyron without glasses

Puf, can I ask where you got this photo? Reason is I've been trying to find photos (or video) online that show any of Kyron's soccer games. (From any source, other team mates or whomever) I've wanted to take a look at the crowd who was watching the game, if any such photos are available. Do you know if this photo you have was of swimming lessons? Or just a family outing at the pool? Or do you know the location of the pool? Thanks.

This is ALL so confusing. This leads me to believe they don't think SM did it. ( they would not waste money or services if they knew what happened or had a good idea JMO )

Again, more and more I think LE still feels someone has Kyron and he is out there somewhere alive.

IMO

ok I will make it easy. No linking to any FB anymore and no more rumor posting.Took a shot at it but it seems to be too confusing, and the mods are going to go nuts.

No more FB or rumors.

closing the thread for 5 to make sure everyone sees this and it is now clear.

Interesting. From article puf posted above.

From LE (Sheriff Staton himself), on Sunday, June 13:

"This is a child who got lost inside a school with faculty there. That was the last time the child was seen."

Lost inside the school. Last seen inside the school.

Nobody saw him leave with SM.

Notice the article date - Sunday, June 13.

Wowser.

I know BeanE !! I love this article. Full of stuff. I'm big on context, so I would just add that the quote you pulled is in response to a discussion regarding why the Sherrif called the FBI immediately (by 7:15) Friday night. I think it refers to what was in the mind of the local LE on the Friday Kyron went missing.

Sometime between 7 and 7:45 p.m., Staton personally called the FBI. He said the circumstances -- Kyron disappeared from school on a busy morning -- prompted him to ask for help from the feds.

"I wanted them involved because the last time this child was seen was inside a school," he said. "This was not a child walking away from their home or getting lost in the woods. This is a child who got lost inside a school with faculty there. That was the last time the child was seen."

The bureau pulled in agents from across the country. Two who would help with the technical aspect arrived that night. Another set of agents with expertise in missing-child cases landed at midnight. More joined Saturday morning.

By then, Kyron had been gone for 24 hours.

later in the article, the FBI is quoted:

Staton said his agency responded quickly to Kyron's disappearance.

"For the location of the school," Staton said, "this is a really good response time, especially when you are talking about a Friday, the time of day, rushing through traffic to get out here."

The FBI often volunteers personnel when children vanish. But the bureau does not consider itself a first responder in such emergencies, FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said.

"Relatively speaking," she said, "we were notified very early in the process."

Whoever might have thought that a very hectic school day morning at the science fair was a good time to abscond with a child ended up getting the immediate attention of the FBI. Interesting indeed. I'm glad they were on top of it so quickly.

snipped by me:

Thank you for your well thought out post. It's good to hear you say that about daylight in that area not impeding a perp to dispose of anything, as that has seemed confusing to me.

I can't remember the news report or PC that it was on, but the LE did say they were searching that area based on a tip.

Some one here posted earlier about the police saying they were looking for something specific and they felt sure they would find it. They said it was on the local news website, but I took a quick look and couldn't find it.

I hope they know something for sure, but I have so many doubts.

I think we have all become very attached to this young boy, how could anyone not?

That pic in the link earlier today of him with his dad and sister on the couch with that box on his head just cracked me up. I think I would have really liked this child.

Hi Mtnone, That was me and Officer Jensen's interview was on a KGW video from earlier today. xox

Haven't been on much lately but this case bothers me. I was right about Gardner and how that all played out so for what it's worth, here's what I think happened to Kyron. Science Fair - lots of parents come in, family etc. I think a parent or sibling of one of Kyron's friends came in and he went off with them. I think a teacher knows and saw it, (or maybe another parent) and they aren't releasing it because they don't want this perp to know what's up.

My thought was to immediately go to the family but with that day being a Science Fair, all bets are off because you get so many different people in there for those kinds of events.

Kyron is a cute kid, read: handsome little boy.

But, wouldn't that be an abduction? How would they ever explain not putting out an Amber Alert if they had a witness to him walking out with someone not a parent?

Hi and thanks! I thought I had seen everything, but I am on information overload I think! Thanks again! I hope they find whatever they are looking for.

You gotta be crazy if you think an ABC affiliate would pre-empt Game 6 of the NBA Finals to broadcast the vigil.

A little night humor there ;} And to Gwenabob, it would take a major event, like a national disaster, Presidential speech or election coverage for the local channels to pre-empt normal TV shows. I don't think Portlanders are tired of coverage about Kyron. They are a good hearted people as a whole. xox

~~snip~~

"The chances are getting slimmer and slimmer that that is what happened to him and that he could ... survive," Van Zandt said.

The moment an adult took note that Kyron wasn't at school Friday, an effort to find him should have been set in motion, Van Zandt said.

"And within an hour instead of 12 hours," he said, "this case would have been moving."

There is a site that has soccer pics, I was viewing them earlier. IIRC there was a slideshow of quite a few pics. If I find it again i will post the info.

I think them needing info on a vehicle is A-1 in importance. I know it is in California. The AA is to watch for someone, and part of that is knowing what they might be traveling in. IMO, and as I read it.
