How about this re the white truck.
I think my car is in my name and my hubby used to have a truck and it was in his name.
Perhaps that is the way it is at their home as well. So Dad could have said, "Go ahead. Take it."
I am sure that it was searched day one or at least day 2.
Would they need an elaborate chain of custody thing if they were just taking the truck as it was used in a crime?
There may be no evidence, per se, in the truck as I am sure that Kyron rode in it a lot.
But if LE knew it was the vehicle used because of other evidence such as video tapes or whatever, they could just load it up on a flat bed.
Or am I wrong in all of this?
If they were taking the truck because it was used in a crime or to search it for any reason, whether looking for clues or whatever, they would need to establish the chain of custody. The tow truck driver could be LE not in uniform (although I'm sure he would be recognized as such with his mug plastered on the tv) but there's no way LE could be riding shotgun--as LE has to observe it being picked up, being loaded, etc.
