In a press conference Sunday afternoon, a Multnomah County Sheriff's Office spokesman now says Kyron Horman was last seen at "a late hour in the morning." This raises questions about the 8:45 a.m. time released by the Sheriff's Office in its press release about this case. We are looking for further clarification into this statement.

Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton said he was "not prepared" to call the boy's disappearance a kidnapping and there were no suspects at this time.

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/95733524.html

That is not at all the same as LE saying "This is not a kidnapping or an abduction."

ETA: Another quote:

Asked if there were any persons of interest, Staton replied: "In this type of situation I think everyone is of interest to us."

Not the same as saying 'everyone is a person of interest' and not the same as LE naming a person or persons of interest.

since the school claims he wasnt seen after the science fair it, if he was actually seen at a later point in the morning it would seem someone at the school is trying to enact a coverup.

I sure hope you're not referring to my post as I was simply asking for the purpose of getting a link to it. So I take it that's a no.

I was not referring to anyone's post. I was thinking about several questions about why not plea and I thought of the other case in OR.

It was not directed at you.

I just remembered the case and thought I'd share.

When I followed Zoey's case, I also found it odd we had not seen or heard from her parents. I have since learned it's getting more common because of public opinion and how parents are often treated. Some innocent parents even get death threats.

There also was Stephen Staynor. He was kidnapped on his way home from school when he was 7 years old. Stephen trusted the abductor/rapist because he thought the man was a pastor of a church. The perp told Stephen his family had too many children to take care of and gave custody to him. The man who held him kidnapped another young boy when Stephen was 14. It was at that point Stephen escaped and rescued the younger boy (a five year old).

A book was written about the case called, "My Name is Stephen."

The abductor sexually assaulted and held Stephen prisoner for 7 years and, if you can believe it, only did five years in prison. I was depressed for weeks after reading that book.

Taken from RubyRed post #399

8:45 a.m. Kyron Horman and his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, attend a science fair at Skyline Elementary School. He is seen walking down a hallway toward a classroom. A fellow student said Kyron was spotted near his classroom in the late morning hours of Friday, but he otherwise has not been seen since then.
**************************

He was seen with mom at the science fair - another sighting in LATE morning near his classroom. Wonder if he ever joined his small group of 4 or 5 that would tour the science exhibits?

Seems he now has been seen later than 8:45. What did he do between 8 and 10 when classes began? Was he helping someone? Seen late morning - meaning 10 or 11am near classroom, yet never made it in. This case is so depressing - hope we get information soon.

Yup! Nadia's parents also stayed away from the media.

I am sure the parents are being advised by LE/FBI. If FBI thought it would be beneficial in any way for them to give a televised "plea" or appeal, they would ask the parents to do it.

I tell you, I would not let my child step foot in that school building until they figure out what happened to Kyron. Remember the Annie Le case, when they had the building open as usual and it turned out she was in the wall?

I was just thinking about that. It took them five days to find her body in a relatively small area when there was no evidence she had left the building.

Yep,I was getting ready to say,if at 8:45 he wasn't seen by a teacher, but later by a fellow student, where had he been? That's if a roll call was made at 8:45,and if he was seen at the science fair, why wasn't it reported to the office he wasn't in his class afterwards?I'm still trying to wrap it around my head why he wasn't walked right up to the door of his classroom.Could he have decided to go back to the science fair room?

What's with this school having 8th graders? Here elementary school ends with 5th graders & then it's off to Middle School where they belong.

Is it possible an 'older' kid may be involved? Probably not but I still don't like this setup at all!

There is no way I'd let my kids go to the school now either.

1. We still don't know what happened

2. They would either be scared or get scared when they got there because other kids were scared

3. Too many "officials" around and it wouldn't be 'normal' anyhow

4. I'd be keeping them under my wing like a mama chicken and her chicks everywhere I went anyway

I will wait for further clarification on the witness seeing him later, if it was a child his own age. The times would be questionable, IMO, as well as sometimes kids just want to be a part of something exciting and may have said, yes I saw him, etc...and maybe they did, earlier. JMO. Would hope an adult or older kid saw him as well.

I understand what you're saying and I appreciate that you pointed that function and feature out. However, it is still disturbing to me as when the toddler appears in photos, her full name is used. And, certainly, an 18-month old does not have a Facebook account. So, still, to me, it seems as though where Kyron is tagged by just his first name, it is more an after-thought since most every other photo (from the baby to the entire family -- except in photos containing miscellaneous individuals) their whole name is used. Why not do the same for Kyron?

I'm not saying that TH has something to do with Kyron's disappearance. That thought just sickens me. But, something feels "off" when it comes to her Facebook page. When she posts about her daughter, I get a sense that she is being genuine. But, not so with Kyron. As I said in my original post, I may be reading into things based on my emotions. Everything I've shared is my opinion only. And, I hope that is the case. But, just like anything, it doesn't hurt to point it out. Unfortunately, you just never know...

I didn't notice it until you pointed it out - but sure enough, you are correct. She tags everyone (whether they have fb or not) with first and last name, except Kyron and his friend (who was shown in a bowling pic, and with his science project). Not sure what it means, but it might be something to note.

How sad to think tommorow many students will walk through that door of the school and one of them may not be Kyron. He should be there darn it! I guess what I am saying is that until we know what happened IMOO no one is off the hook, all the way from the maintance staff...to teachers...to parents, rather they be his or someone elses.

Whoever you are, wherever you are..Please bring Kyron home safe! There are many hugs waiting from people who love him. There are hundreds of people, probally thousands of people holding thier breathe waiting and praying that you will.

I remember it vividly - can you imagine the absolute horror of the children if that should ever be the case?

You know everyday in schools kids are let out of the classroom to go to the bathroom, this could happen in any school at anytime.Every school should have security, here there's security guards and cameras.Sad that it's come to that in our country, but you can't even trust teachers and maintenance workers anymore.

Rural schools in Oregon are pretty small. Our school is like Skyline in that all grades attend school at the same complex. The middle school portion has completely different schedules than the elementary school and the kids don't interact at all, even at lunchtime. There are two different offices - one for the elementary and one for the middle school. They are at opposite ends of the building. The two schools are only attached by the multi-purpose room that not only has a stage but has the basketball courts as well.
