I'm sure that lots of people have white trucks. Not pointing fingers, but Kyron's family has a white truck.

No kidding. And remember the "white van" in the Washington DC sniper case. Somebody thought they'd seen a "white van" near one of the shootings, and the police all over the metro area were stopping white vans to question the drivers -- hundreds, thousands of white vans, tying up traffic. And it turned out that no white van ever had anything to do with case. Little wonder LE in this case doesn't want to talk about the "white truck" sighting.

I just thought of a possability, and I know its far fetched, but Kyron's dad works for Intel, could all this secrecy and the fact that LE seems to be thinking that no other child is endangered and the fact that they arent calling it an abduction but called in a profiler AND CARD could this be an abduction with a ransom?

Yes, this has crossed my mind. There has been cases, with adult ransom abductions... where there was some seriously weird stuff going on. Messages back and forth in newspaper ads, or the whole scavenger hunt type thing where they go find one thing and it sends them to another... so the perp can see if they are being followed by LE.

I have considered that LE called everyone in before they got that ransom call...and then couldn't undo it once it was done. Then, they couldn't just say "nevermind." So they were just playing it down as much as possible... maybe with the theory that if there is no news it won't be reported.

I think it is a very slim chance, but it has occurred to me.

For my job, I go in and out of schools all of the time. Most people are in classrooms with the door shut.

As a matter of fact, in the schools in our city, we have had many instances of purses, etc missing from hidden spots in the classroom. When I was a teacher, there was a speech clinician, who left her tiny office across from my room ,to come back a few minutes later to find her hidden purse gone.

I did not see anyone. A teacher across the hall had her computer stolen. I could go on and on with these incidences.

Our schools are old with security non-existent , but that will be remedied soon with new schools being built.

I wish the people who are so against new schools being built-at the tune of about $100 extra dollars a year on their property taxes, would understand that just having security is worth the price.

There has been no trace of the 7-year-old boy who proudly showed off his project on frogs at a school science fair before vanishing Friday morning. He was last seen by his step-mother walking toward his classroom, 150 feet away. He never made it.

Gates said a source at the school saw him around 9 a.m. Friday, but declined to provide details.

Truck driver was heading toward Portland on Hwy 26.

Truck turned in front of him and he had to slam on his brakes. It was a dirty gray or black pick up.

Startled look on face of boy. Looked like Kyron.

Is this the same report as the one we thought had been of a sighting a boy *walking* on Highway 26? If so, it makes a lot more sense that the truck driver didn't stop to ask the boy if he needed help. On the other hand, unless the truck driver is pretty sure that the boy looked a *lot* like Kyron, I wouldn't put much stock in this report. Any kid riding in a vehicle would look "startled" if another vehicle had to slam on its brakes to avoid hitting the vehicle the child was riding in (and in this case, the near-miss was apparently on the same side of the vehicle as the child was sitting in). Plus it's really hard to estimate a child's age/size when you only see their head in a vehicle window.

11:10 a.m. -- Vickie Coghill, a 35-year resident of Portland's Skyline area, pointed to the billboard outside the school, which reads "June 4, I.B. Inquiry Expo, 8-10, Talent show, 1-2:45." Kyron was to take part in both the expo/science fair and the talent show, Coghill said.

Parent Gina Zimmerman was at the school for the science fair, which she described as major academic and social event for the school where the day's events included an afternoon talent show.

Billboard reads like an announcement to the public, an open invitation. So there likely were strangers mulling about among the crowd, especially since no formal security measures were in place for such events (and not too many for a regular day). They wouldn't necessarily stand out either because there's no way on such a busy day that every staff member and every student will be able to discern who is a family member or volunteer and who is not.

I haven't heard that number before. From the initial briefings it seemed that it was not far at all, just down the hallway... 150' is not "just" down the hallway.

So, anything other than "it was suspicious that Kyron didn't ride the bus on Friday" come out of this one??

Here's another quote but this one saying she walked him to the classroom.

Kyron showed off his project on the red-eyed tree frog and by 8:45 a.m. Kyron waved goodbye to Horman outside of his classroom. At some point after that, the boy's teacher, Kristina Porter, marked Kyron absent. There are too many varying "facts" being thrown around in the media and very little hard evidence to go on.

150' would put him all the way down the hallway from where Terri would have been.

There was a blue Nissan in the Somer Thompson case. A little girl on her bike was supposedly almost abducted by someone in a blue Nissan near where Somer was last seen. The sheriff even had the lady who saw the supposed attempted abduction speak at a press conference. Upon further investigation it turned out that the person in the blue Nissan was actually an off-duty law enforcement officer who saw the child fall off her bike and stopped to ask if she was OK.

All the local schools here use the marquee signs in front of the school to announce special events, ceremonies, competitions, etc...they even say when the students will be released on a half-day. I always check to see what is going on at the elementary school down my street so I know when to avoid that route, due to the termendous number of cars that pile up at pick-up time...the cars wrap around the block and overlap two otehr small streets. Anyway, the high schools do the same here.

That is what I thought. So she is heading BACK up to continue the search.

I figured they were probably moving up there.

She has been there. It's been reported in the news and one of the local reporters talked to her yesterday.

She and her husband (who is a police officer btw)
are looking to find temporary housing in the area, so I think they are heading there for awhile. I saw that on FB today where one of her friends were asking if any realtors had any available that they could rent.

I would hope that someone would give them a room/apartment for awhile. I would, if I had an apartment or extra room there. Surely there's somebody in Portland with a guesthouse that they can make available to them.
