Body found in Bend OR

Police are not speculating on any missing persons at this time. "We're all aware that there is a missing person case, but for me to speculate on any names would just not be appropriate right at this point in time," he said.

Firstly, thank you so much Puf for your hard work and detailed information. I really appreciate it! I just wanted to point out that it was also stated although they didn't give a name that his neighbor also saw the same truck that night and let her dogs out the truck left. I only wanted to mention it so as people who did not follow along understand that there was more than 1 witness to this unsual white truck with a female driver on that dead end road that night. Thanks again!

That's good to know - maybe Jim Kelley doesn't own but rents and his name doesn't show up. I'm almost 100% positive that LE/FBI have ruled out step-moms car by now along with any other family cars, homes, land. moo

Seems to me LE need to get cadaver dogs out there. moo

BBM. Hopefully this means it is not Kyron?!

BEND, OR -- A body was recovered in the Deschutes River, at the spillway near the Newport Avenue Bridge Monday afternoon.

An individual near the area, who called 9-1-1, first spotted the body, Authorities believe the body had been in the water for quite some time.

Does anyone know the area that is being spoken of in this article? If so where does it run? No matter who this is, someone is going to have pain and heartache once identifed. I pray for the loved ones of this newly found missing person.

I have no idea puf - what town and I'll do a background check on his name to see if he does live anywhere near where the truck was supposedly seen. If a truck was seen...as always, I'm worried about rumors. lol

I posted earlier today, there's a Jim Kelley listed as living on Deardorff Rd. It is about four miles from the school though, it's the closest one I could find. It's a road off of Cornelius Pass rd, but I doubt it's him, unless he's moved closer.

I've already checked Portland, and there are a gazillion Jim/James Kelleys in P'land.

The Hormans' address is Portland. It's Multnomah Co, too.

Maybe they did. Just adding information regarding the truck and where it was seen. I guess the fact that more than one person seen this event makes it seem less like a rumor so I thought that I would mention it.

I don't know what to make of this ?? It was posted a short time ago.

It was unclear whether Kyron was in class Friday or when anyone noticed he was missing because police have been reticent to disclose public details of the search. Shelby said authorities don't want to give out information that could contradict a potential witness's recollection, but the school has a good idea of when Kyron was reported absent.
"We don't want to cloud anyone's recollection," Shelby said. "We'll defer to the authorities."

Could it mean that, at some point Kyron's class/school took attendance, and whoever marked Kyron absent at the point knows what time of day she/he marked Kyron absent. As far as LE is concerned, that provides an important defined time and part of the case's timeline record - when Kyron was first officially marked absent from school.

Apart from that, they are asking many people what time they believe they last saw Kyron, so they don't want those witnesses' recollections colored by the publishing of this official attendance recorded time.

Does that make sense?

Here's what we know about Jim Kelley. I could not find an addy in whitepages or pipl search. I also searched several entire street names on the county assessors web site and could not find him.

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/i...inues_hun.html

quote - snipped:

1:29 p.m. -- Neighbors stop by Brooks Hill Historic church, across the street from the school, to mull over the investigation. "This kind of thing is unheard of," says Jim Kelley, 50.

Kelley, who lives about a mile and a half down hill, at the end of a winding, secluded country lane off Cornelius Pass, said police, federal agents, K-9 teams and helicopters scoured the area Saturday.

"We had two odd sightings of a vehicle on our road Friday," Kelley said. Around 3 p.m., he and a neighbor reported seeing a white pick-up truck with a female driver pull to the end of the long road, idle and then turn around. Then again at 2 a.m. Saturday morning, a similar white pickup truck appeared, idled and when a neighbor loosed her dogs, eased away.

"A, it was strange to have a car there, any car there, that we didn't know, and B, it was strange to have a vehicle come down our dead-end road twice in the same day, hours after a little boy goes missing," said Kelley. "That's beyond rare."

Kelley said authorities have twice searched the deep ravine, creek and railroad tracks located near the end of his street by air and on foot.

Thanks for all that info. Maybe his land is in a trust or he rents. Hope they bring cadaver dogs out his way.

Now I can't figure out why anyone would think this is step-mom venturing out twice - and so late at night or am. White trucks are everywhere aren't they? moo

Question for local Oregonians: are roadsides and such sprayed with insecticides/ pesticides in your area during this season? If so- do you know how? By air, ground, etc?

Oh I remember you posting that. I wonder why I overlooked it. It def could be the right address.

I think LE is following up on all these leads both because they have to, and because they have not been able to determine anything much of use, other than nailing down times, from their talks at the school. I just hope all of these truck sightings are not wild goose chases that take up a lot of time, and does not take away from the ground search. I read some posts earlier on local paper that the ground search was not being as thorough as it should be, in some searchers' opinions, as people were giving up due to the density of the landscape, etc...do not know how true this is, of course...

Was Kyron supposed to be in the talent show that day?

I'm not 100% sure what they use in Portland. Our city uses Round Up and Caseron. They have to be a licensed by the state to spray.

I'm only about half way through the list of RSO's in the county, it does list some of their vehicles.
This one drives a Dark Blue pickup.

This one drives a Ford Ranger, but it does not list the color, and he has the right MO.

Also, one there named Henning drives a white pickup, but his usual MO doesn't really fit.

Still looking, but I have to wonder why that information (vehicles registered to them) isn't listed for each and every one of them!

The only thing I know for sure is at times you will be going down a road, and you will see homeowners who have posted "don't spray" signs.. to notify the county not to spray their side of the road...

Thank you. Are they spraying roadsides and public tracks at this time of year?

According to some news reports via interviews with parents, yes.

Freefallzzz mentioned this in thread one and it bears repeating. Oregon doesn't list ALL of their sex offenders publicly. They list Tier III offenders, the worst of the worst. It doesn't surprise me that not a lot of information is available.
