I don't get how saying, "We want to thank all the searchers and volunteers who are handing out fliers for their efforts. If you have seen Kyron please call the tip line. We love our son and want him home. We won't take any questions. Thank you." would jeopardize an investigation.

Based on the way many of the posters on this thread are passing judgment on the parents and even the grandma, if I were in their shoes I wouldn't put myself out there to have everything I do picked apart and used against me. Not saying you are doing this but a lot are and that's just one reason they may be trying to stay out of reach. I know someone yesterday posted a link to a response step mom had made after an news article regarding posting on facebook and she was jumped for even trying to explain herself both in that comment section and here on WS. Seems like you are damned if you do and damned if you don't so why bother.

now that is very interesting. Maybe stepmom took him around to other classrooms to see some of his friends exhibits.

She did. She posted a picture one of Kyron's friends in another classroom during the exhibit.

As far as something happening in the school, with different folks milling around, it's entirely possible and that he might have never left. I recall a case somewhere, in the northeast I think, where a 5-yr-old boy was raped in public library, behind a bookshelf, while his mother did research on a computer just a few feet away. She never knew anything until the librarian noticed something was up, and the attacker fled. If that can happen, then ANYTHING can happen, IMO.... :( ... there's not necessarily screaming, kicking, etc.

Kyron's school reminds me of the school in Kindergarten Cop. Being an older school, it probably has all sorts of little closets, old rooms, utility closets, etc.

This whole thing worries me - how a child can go missing in a school. I have worked in schools for years, and I think of how often I see a child off in a wing of the school alone during lunch or something, because the teacher sent them to get something or they forgot something. This is really scary...

I just can not beleive that thread 4 is almost the same as thread 1, why do we not know anything? We do not even have a likely scenerio. All we know is that a beautiful 7 year old has literally disappeared into thin air
These are the thoughts in my head right now, if he left the school either voluntarily or abducted why no scent leaving the school? why not a scent to the woods if he wonddered there? Why no scent to the parking lot if he was put in a car? Is it because of the rain or is it because there were so many people in that school recently and the dogs can't find his scent?
Which leads to... he never left the school grounds, but LE can't think he is still at the school or they never would have allowed the school to be opened today... but they did open the building with Annie Le and she was inside the wall, and they did not find her for 5 days.
If he was abducted then someone would have seen something or there would seem to be some sort of struggle, and I can't see him voluntarily getting into someones car and leaving school. yet no one saw anything.
A few things I considered but still do not add up, LE held a press confrence at the church could he have been scared about the talent show left the school and went to the church to hide? if thats the case why no scent?
Could it be he left with his step mom? possibly but not likely because it seems as though LE is not to concerned with the family or we would see them at police head quarters being interigated for hours... (think of Casey Anthony, and Misty Croslin) I dont think they are suspecting the family.
Could it be a stranger? I dont think so he would have put up a fight and drawn attention and LE would be releasing statements to keep your kids close.
So what does that leave? A fellow student, possably but where is Kyron? Could a kid keep a secret like this?

I am getting nothing from this at all just a sick feeling in my belly and I dont like it.

Hi Butterfly, Great post as usual ;} and you got me thinking about the dogs. I admit I haven't read every post here yet. But I thought I heard on the news last night that there was an area where the dogs showed interest. Not alerted to.

If no one knows about that I thought I'd call channel 12 as they are always great at answering a question.

IMO I would think the dogs would have found Kyron's scent as he entered the school at 8am, walked down to his exhibit and then walked to the point where his SM left him off, right? I know dogs always find the most recent scent.

I can not figure out how this child got off school property UNLESS he was walked on the same path back to the parking lot as where he got out when he first arrived at 8am.

The only other possibility is if someone carried him or gave him the fireman's carry or SS away from the school property. Someone would notice that I would think, eh? In that case LE would need a special sniffer dog who picks up the sent of the skin rafts that fall on the ground like happened in Laci Peterson's case. ??? xox

Kyron's science fair exhibit was set up in his classroom. Here's the picture his sm took that morning compared to the picture of Kyron's classroom at http://www.kptv.com/slideshow/news/23806039/detail.html

Oh yes, that does look like it sure enough.Article got it wrong then, the one said he put coat and backpack in his class, and took his mom to see the exhibit. One of the first articles, which also is understandable it was all new info coming in. So,I'm wondering why did she drop him off at 8:45 down the hall from his class.Did they go look at other rooms,I wonder, like the little family friend's classroom?

The perp could be a female. I would think that most kids would trust a female almost automatically whereas they might consider a male a stranger or a creepy person.

No he was not in the talent show....step mom was not coming back to watch...dont know why...maybe because she had the little girl as well....and yes he was reported missing after he did not get off the bus....that was the first time his absence was really noticed.......(hope this is all correct)....

I just posted a link that he was doing both.

I sure hope LE has an idea of what has happened here and just isn't sharing, because if they do not after four full days, that is pretty scary. Am trying to think of other cases with good endings, not counting Nadia, that went on this long with so young a child and everything turned out okay...and none come to mind (not counting custodial- type issues.) Time is really not on K's side at this point, sadly, if LE is still scrambling.

If they do know and aren't sharing, that is kind of scary too...IMO

Would there still be a scent for the dogs to follow if the perp doped him, picked him up and carried him away from the building?

She did. Took a picture in another classroom.

If you look at the slideshow of Kyron's class at the link I posted with that comparison, it really looks to me like his classroom opens into another classroom and not a hallway. Anybody care to see if you agree? http://www.kptv.com/slideshow/news/23806039/detail.html

I've seen 3 posts now that said Kyron was supposed to be in the talent show. The talent show was to take place at 1 - did he show? Did he perform?
He was missing by then.

IF he was supposed to be in the show was step-mom going to come back and watch? Why or why not? I don't think she did as she reported him after he didn't get off the bus.
I definitely would not question a parent on why they did or didn't attend a function. It is not the end of the world. I'm not going to judge.

Wish we could at least get some confirmation about his participation in the talent show.

LE will release info when they are ready.

Yeah, one of our teachers got her sex offender son a job taking yearbook pics at all the schools in our district. Nice huh? Thankfully someone caught on and he was fired. But now he's in prison for a couple of decades for another incident.

Is anyone else's head ready to explode from lack of which way to go in this case? I would be happy if I could narrow the suspect list to lets say....100 people or so. I want this child found so badly.

 Holy WOW, I cannot believe that, very disturbing! What sort of teacher (or anyone for that matter) thinks that's a good idea? I sure hope there was no one like this attending the events at Kyron's school that day.

What incorrect information was the stepmother referring to in this statement from kptv?

The first reference of Kyron's disappearance on Moulton Horman's Facebook page came Saturday at 10:16 a.m., when she posted, "Please don't listen to the news. It is inaccurate. We will give details as soon as we can.
http://www.kptv.com/news/23816333/detail.html

Maybe she already knew that someone had seen him after her. So ya know don't believe everything, it is inaccurate, somebody saw him after me but gee we can't say that cause we don't want the perp to know he was seen with our kid...maybe something like that? We don't actually now what it was that was inaccurate...just an example. They are keeping this close to the vest...

I keep thinking of Ben Owensby and Shawn Hornbeck

Thanks Scandi, glad to see you here, sucks its under these circumstances. I would like some confirmation about the dogs because I thought I read that they never picked up his scent, which doesn't make since, because we know he was there. The only way I could see him leaving the school and nobody seeing him leave and no struggle is if he was knocked out somehow and placed in something.... It being so close to the end of the year I am wondering if anyone was cleaning up for the end of the year, and possably carried out storage tubs or something that a child could have been placed in.

The family friend, the boy in the family pics, that pic with him was taken in front of Kyron's exhibit, right?I don't know if there was one of his. He's about a year older, but I wonder if he's in Kyron's class. And if not, could Kyron be walking to his class to see him and his exhibit,I wonder. At first I thought, after his Mom left, with him being so excited about his exhibit,he could have went back to see it,but now we pretty much see it's his classroom.So,15 minutes later he's still not in his class,if another child saw him at back door.
