I am wondering why the reporter did not ask the obvious follow-up question (to me anyway) Did you or anyone point out during the rest of the 5 hours or so of the day that Kyron never came back? Perhaps because then there wouldn't be a story to print.

I have a feeling that LE heard this info, but that they did ask the follow-up questions and were able to dismiss it altogether as "muddled" at best. Again, just my opinion.

That is always a great idea but unfortunately the members have a tendency to argue over what truly IS fact so it doesn't work too well LOL.

We do have a timeline forum where a factual no discussion thread can be created or continued with known time frames.

I agree, we can't really know what we would do in such a situation.

"Normal" is such a subjective term. I don't know what normal is in a situation like this, as normal to me on a given "normal" day is different than many others' normal.

I have read everything from the beginning of the first thread, and I have spent a lot of time wondering what on earth I would be doing if on one of my boys was missing. It's very hard to put yourself in those shoes - I once had a dream that my older one went missing at an indoor playplace, and that alone made me frantic, heart racing when I woke up shortly thereafter.

I'm pretty sure I'd be terribly distraught, definitely not sleeping (that's part of my normal) and maybe trying to distract myself with a book or another activity, which wouldn't be very successful. If LE told me not to be out there searching, I wouldn't be, but overall I know I'd feel very helpless.

People speculate on different activities being strange, but we shouldn't judge someone else's normal. Exercise sounds like a productive way to handle the stress of the situation, and exercise definitely sounds like part of TH's "normal."

I think we all should be very careful trying to define just what is normal in a situation that itself can't be defined as normal in any way shape or form.

Apparently other people care enough about this investigation and Kyron to want to follow the instructions of LE and the flippin' FBI. How damn bold do you have to be to go against what child abduction experts from the FBI tell you not to do????

Here's a crazy devil's-advocate thought: Maybe Grandma's appearance was a put on too. How do we/you know she *really* went against "FBI orders"?
If she's some do-gooder, wouldn't she be highly likely to follow the instructions of the Feds?

What benefit to the case might there be in *coordinating* her statements?

In fact, that is a phrase that keeps standing out to me from the PCs. "Beneficial to the case.". They will release information (he's used this answer to several Qs) when it's 'beneficial'.

Actually, that's the vibe I got from Jensen, exactly. One rarely finds a professional detective yapping and providing colorful commentary on irrelevancies like that about victim families.

Good question on paper holding back questions. Possible answer - news is cooperating with LE's requests. In return they get access to actual info, news and/or LE leaks when they are available.

After the dads comment to search the horse farm, I was wondering if maybe K's step brother had a stalker, some teenage girl with an infatuation for boys and horses? Maybe she was seen at the school that day, dropping off a younger sibling. What a way to get back at a boy who moved away!!!!

If she's got an attorney advising her, LE would not be doing any of those things unless they were prepared to arrest her (and even then they couldn't force her to take a polygraph or even talk to them.) I'm not saying she does have an attorney now; I'm just saying that not polygraphing her or taking her in for questioning does not mean they don't suspect her.

There are lots of possibilities of what could have happened to Kyron, from him wandering into the woods to a stranger luring him. I just don't see that we've got enough information to eliminate any of the possibilities.

ETA I don't have the statistics, but it does seem to me like bio-moms kill their children more often than step-moms do.

Well, having been 7 or 8 years old at one time, I remember an hour being like "all day!" But it would make sense that the hour was from arrival to around 9ish. Also, the little guy could have heard or been questioned about "an hour."

Very true. When I was that age, I thought the 'school year' was a whole year long, and I also thought the summer (out of school) was another whole year. LMAO!

And the school days? They seemed about a week long...

Search teams in Oregon are looking for a little boy named Kyron.

Police career

My worthy posting friends on this subject, of all opinions, made the appropriate point that I could just look up Jensen's experience in detective work rather than just going with my gut. :blushing: So I did.

Facts in this case= Kyron Horman is missing, maybe since last Friday, and many many searchers are looking for him.

I think that is the writer's interpretation. The kids were supposed to go to class at 8:45 and break up into smaller groups to tour the exhibits, then return to their classes at 10 am. That would probably make it roughly 9 when they started on their tours, so there's your hour.

That could easily be too, that the reporter infused the hour estimate in there.

Actually there is a wonderful manual put out by the US Dept of Justice. I was just reading what they suggest parents do regarding media Chapter 3. I would think the CARD team would or should give every parent of a missing child this manual.

We don't know anything about poly's in this case because Gates gave his standard no comment or can't answer. We don't know who is being interviewed and how often. And the press is starting to sniff out stuff because they've gotten nothing in days. Not saying that's right or wrong, just what I noticed about the press yesterday.

Yes the press is asking a lot of the questions that we've been asking, just not getting any answers.

I have exercised on the day that I learned that someone very close to me had passed. Someone that I lived with. Exercise clears my mind; it allows me to see a way forward when I otherwise can't.

Maybe it was weird of me, but to be honest, what I really didn't have the energy for was worrying about what people thought of me at the time. I was so distraught, I just didn't care.

And when my father passed, my sister and I went shopping after the funeral - we knew he'd understand.

We all get insulted sometimes... yesterday someone commented that the problem is that children who have parents who have been divorced are more likely to be in this situation.

I'm divorced, and my kiddo is right here at home with me, has never gone missing, doesn't do drugs and alcohol, and is pretty much the perfect kid. Of course, I'm biased.

I have 4 of those that I raised myself, all of whom are well functioning adults and even though their father got lost in the drug culture and never came back. I have a 5th kiddo whose father is here (and who's sister is my step-daughter)

I think the divorce thing comes from non-custodial parents taking off with their kids (which happened to us, by the way. Bio mom split with the kid.)

The divorce thing makes sense to me because of the anger. It's about a bad relationship between 2 people. Mom vs step mom or dad vs step dad is not really about being a bio or a step but rather about good vs evil. Evil comes in all kinds of packages.

ETA forgot to say I was not insulted, more like appalled at how she is being attacked based on her being a step parent.
