That Lifedork thing is weird... it DOES say blah blah was arrested but I don't understand what's going on there...

The first link, which was not the teacher's blog, says TH Arrested. The second link, which Goodaim had said was the teacher's blog does not.

I'm not even sure the second link is the teacher's blog. Has anyone confirmed that?

We might want to be careful with that blog. I'm not inclined to trust a blogger who calls himself "Lifedork", has posted what is almost certainly a false headline, and whose blog (not just that page, but the homepage as well) sports one and only one ad which screams "Learn to Hack!", "Start Hacking", "Learn Underground Hacking Techniques", and "Become one with the hackers".

In light of that ad, I strongly suspect the headline is a deliberate falsehood designed to draw traffic, and perhaps for more nefarious purposes than generating hits to boost ad revenue.

I'm really sorry --- the 2 pages looked the same and i didn't intend to post something sensational (as well as inaccurate). I had never seen a lifedork page before and i believed that that was the name her own blog. Again, i'm very sorry for messing up!

I think I'll delete all my related posts unless you have already!

I'm still not ready to blame the school until a lot of things are cleared up. We don't know for sure anything about when Kyron was actually last seen or with whom, there has been too much conflicting information. I'm totally not buying the story from the kid reported last night, until LE says it is true. Or any of the other alleged sightings, unless LE clarifies and confirms. JMO

First we are given the impression Kyron dropped off his backpack and coat in his classroom, and then he and his stepmom setup his science display in the gym; then that she walked him most of the way back to his classroom. We were told he was marked absent (which I don't understand considering the alleged backpack and coat) as the teacher assumed he left with his mom?

Then we get word that he was in a group of students and on the way back to the classroom he was unaccounted for, but the one teacher displayed no concern. Then we also get word that the displays were in the classrooms and not the gym.

So which is it? What really took place in Kyron's timetable that morning?

As for the parents lack of response, I am not bothered by that. Human nature brings out the worst in many of us and judgements in these situations are too easy to make before we realise we are even doing so. Were it my child, I'd be so devastated and there'd not be enough drugs out there to get me to a right frame of mind to cope, I'd imagine. The rounds of 'she cried too much' to 'she cried too little' to 'she was perfectly made up' or in this case 'she went to workout at the gym'. Its too easy to fall into that trap.

While I am questioning the security at the school, I am trying my absolute best to refrain. As for the media, a comment I had read pages back (maybe this thread or another one) it is so true; the media takes the slightest negative of an otherwise positive piece, and turns it into the most negative piece of reporting. I can see why people are preferring to stay quiet at this time.

The waiting is the hardest part, indeed. Information is limited, at best. No one is speaking. Lets just pray that soon, we will get word that Kyron was located. I pray daily he has angels watching over him and returned soon to his family.

the lifedork pages look like adware garbage links. Can you imagine spending all day dreaming up phrases to link to google searches which then create links to your gobbledegook web pages? Ever wonder what they are secretly sucking out of your computer whilst you try to read the gobbledegook?

Hi, I've pondered those thoughts too about why the sub. We learned Kyron's class was a joint 2nd and 3rd grade one. For this busy day they had divided the classes into groups as I read it. That might be why they called in a sub for that day. I would consider a sub a temporary staff member because they are qualified teachers who earn a wage when called in. In fact, aren't they on an approved list for the school to call when needed? xox

I am a substitute teacher. I had to pass a background check with fingerprints. When I sub, I report to the vice-principal, who is in charge of making sure the classes are properly covered. I don't work in the same class every day, but I am usually at the school, covering for someone 2-5 days each week. I would say that I am more of a part-time employee than a temporary employee, since I am "on call", even on the days I don't work.

For the record, if a child who was supposed to be in my class, (especially a young one) , was not accounted for, I would never, ever simply assume he had left with a parent. When I allow a child to go to the bathroom, I look them straight in the eye, smile and say, "straight there and back, no side trips, okay?" They know from past experience and the school grapevine that I will come find them if they don't return promptly. If a teacher told me that a child should be right back and they didn't show up, I would follow up promptly and notify the office if I didn't find him. :twocents:

I haven't seen it confirmed that Kyron's backpack and coat were dropped off.

I've never seen it said that Kyron was in a group of students.

I've don't recall ever seeing that the displays were in the gym.

Could you tell me where you're getting this info from?
