On Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 6:25 pm, Southeast Precinct officers were called to a residence in the 3100 block of Northeast Couch Street to assist paramedics after 45-year-old John Jorgensen called 911 to request medical assistance for his mother who had been lying on the floor for several days.

A terminally ill 46-year-old inmate died Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail.

The sheriff’s office said John A. Jorgensen died at about 5 a.m. He suffered from pancreatic cancer.

Jorgensen was awaiting trial on charges related to alleged criminal mistreatment that was believed to have caused his mother’s death.
