Thank you for updating The Charley Project, however upon reading it- I do have a correction: Lovrien did know Mark. Mark was in possession of Lovrien's phone number. That has been confirmed by his father, and Lovrien claimed in court that he met Mark in a bookstore.
Last updated October 30, 2024; details of disappearance updated.
Just saw this old question. The answer is: Mark owned his house. His father has since sold it. I don't know in which rooms the blood spatter was found.I'm wondering about the blood spatter as well, believe.
Where exactly was it located in the residence? I wonder if there were trajectories done at the time? Perhaps the cold case detective has this info.
Did Mark own or rent?
And there is no way he only murdered two men, both violently, 20 years apart. There must be other victims out there.Unfortunately it's very unlikely that he even knows where exactly he put him. I attempted to drive to Larch Mountain a few months ago and we got lost on the way there and the road was closed. It was a very pretty mountain with lots of trees and overlooks the Columbia river. Most likely he wants to be closer to Portland for his brother and other family to visit. Personally, I'm glad he's as far away from Portland as possible and in a wasteland. It's exactly what he deserves for his selfish actions. One murder you might be able to claim heat of passion/self-defense, but not two, and he mutilated his second victim.
No doubt. I don't have the answer about Mr. Griffin. I do know that PPB suspects that there are other victims, just no evidence yet to prove it. Lovrien owned his own house on Foster Road in Portland. I drove by it and got pictures earlier in the thread. He sold it to pay for his defense (but wasn't obligated to disclose a dead body in the shed). And there is no way he only murdered two men, both violently, 20 years apart. If Mark had Lovrien's phone number, then perhaps he frequented gay bars to find targets. Do we know if his other victim was gay? Where did Lovrien live over the years?
(Shades of Bruce McArthur. I know his name has been brought up previously in this thread. And I'm guessing there have been other men who have preyed on gay men.)
I just looked at Kenneth Griffin's obituary. It sounds like he struggled with mental health issues but was a kind and gentle man. I hope no one minds that I mention him here on Mark's thread (since I couldn't find a thread for him). But rest in peace "Ray Ray"/"Kenny G".No doubt. I don't have the answer about Mr. Griffin. Updating this old post: Lovrien left cigarette butts at the scene it was revealed. And he had a prior rap sheet, but apparently nothing for which his DNA had been collected. They do have unsourced DNA from the scene. Mark's parents confirmed for me that LE has Mark's DNA and theirs on file. Apparently the perp isn't entered in any national crime bank like CODIS, so probably this was his first crime.
Just checked this link- looks like it resold for $460,700. I can now see pictures of the inside and back yard. Wonder if the same shed is still there?Well, guess what? I decided for the heck of it to check the listing on Zillow, since I know the address, at first I didn't see it listed, so i thought it hadn't happened yet- then I searched by address rather than neighborhood. It turns out that he sold it a month ago for 385,000! The listing has better pictures of it than I could take from the street. The shed must be behind the fence on the left side of the property: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/12044-SE-Foster-Rd-Portland-OR-97266/53867219_zpid/
Here's the description of it- (notice that they forgot to mention the dead body in the shed): Wonderful development or rehab opportunity, 1940's Bungalow on nearly 1/2 acre lot, zoned RM1. Features hardwood floors on main. Living room with wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen has a cozy nook with corner windows. Partially finished basement with family room and lots of great built-in storage. One car attached garage. Fully fenced backyard. Park-like setting with beautiful fir trees and natural landscaping.
