Currently there is a no contact order and she's been charged with reckless endangerment for drunk driving with her granddaughter in the car. Little, but at least it's something.

"Fell"
Fell backward at high speed, and her mother driving didn't notice and then looked for her then went home forgot to call the police.
Not buying the story at all.
What a great grandmother!
Hopefully, this poor child is NOT raised by this grandmother.
I'm not saying I buy it. I'm just saying that's what investigators seemed to be going on. None of it makes any sense.

Sorry, I wasn't directing it at you more so questioning the mother's account of the night.
Wait. Did I read that correctly? That she can't have contact with Megan's dad either?
The mother who was driving drunk when her adult daughter fell to her death from the back seat on a rural Yamhill County road was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation.
5 days in jail and 3 years probation?
Seriously?
I am sick.
SHE COULD HAVE KILLED HER 3 YEAR-OLD GRANDDAUGHTER by DUI.
I am not even going to go there regarding the level of responsibility I believe she had in contributing to Meighan's death.
Please tell me why the light sentence?
Texting while driving can carry a higher sentence in Oregon!
Edited to add a thought.

This is so wrong. I cannot comprehend why there was not more severe consequences!because she only got DUI (I know, bad enough) but what I meant was they didn't convict her of child endangerment. they should have.
The woman who was sentenced to jail time and probation for driving drunk when her daughter either fell or jumped to her death from a moving vehicle in Yamhill County has applied to change her name, court records show.
IMO, you shouldn’t be allowed to change your name while you’re on probation.
