Found Deceased OR - Meighan Cordie, 27, Yamhill County, 18 Aug 2018

If someone knows the answer I am wondering, when a search is called off for an area, is there anything that prevents friends and family or private citizens from going door to door canvassing the area? Not just in this case, but anywhere? Because if it was my loved one who was missing and not found outside, I'd want to be knocking on doors if no one else was.
Great idea, but unfortunately, there is no "door to door". Take a look at the Google Map of Grand Island. There are no neighborhoods, just a literal handful of isolated large farms and having lived on such a rural farm in my past, most are posted "no trespassing". On the plus side, I guarantee the few farmers that live on the island saw the LEO activity and asked why so they would have reported something if they'd seen her.

On MC's instagram, she is pictured at the wedding with a drink in her hand. So I assume at least some level of alcohol is involved in this incident

Wow. 8miles from where she left her mom's car. Wonder how she got here.

Totally, I’m sure she does. I haven’t heard, I wonder if either were intoxicated. That’s the only reason, I can see, for leaving a vehicle in the middle of nowhere with no shoes or phone and why mom didn’t stick around.
And now she has to live with that for the rest of her life. Not a good conclusion to the case. If there is anything I would like to see change in this world, it's that we treasure those we love, and show it. Instead of this weird, Jerry Springer, Youtube vine, crazy mixed up world. Going to a wedding and having a few drinks should not have to lead to a blow out that leads to this. JMO, not saying this directly at you. Just wishing the world would turn....kinder. Safer.

I agree. I can not imagine what her mom is going threw right now.

just wow, the whole thing. I'll wait for more details. We all know how things can change from initial reports.

I'm wondering if there may be more to this story?

I can't imagine this woman walking 8 miles in the dark, (barefoot) and possibly intoxicated.

unless the mom pushed her down the embankment when they were arguing

or someone else was involved. I just can't even go there thinking her mom had anything to do with this. My mind just won't let me.

and not enough details released to make a logical conclusion IMO.

Just very sad for those who knew and loved her... their pain is just beginning.

It’s totally plausible that she was intoxicated, fell, and hit her head. Her mom. Omg. The guilt.

This is so sad. My thoughts are with her family. Rest in Peace Meighan :(

My first ever post, but wow!! So sad!

Assuming she got that far by innocent means (walking - though doubtful, or hitchhiking and someone dropped her off), seems as though where she was found maybe she had been hit by a car? Thats probably best case scenario... I can’t even begin to imagine what the mom is going through!
