SALEM -- Sex offender Larry Lee Lerch had confessed to killing a 7-year-old boy who disappeared from a Portland park in July 1981, leading to his conviction in one of Multnomah County's most notorious murders even though the boy's body was never found.

Bump, Michael’s case is still restricted on NamUs on my dashboard. I do hope he makes it on there soon but it’s been four years since I sent his case to them.

Larry Lerch’s offender status shows he has an earliest release date of August 30th 2026. He tried to get paroled in 2013 but lost that chance.

Michael’s family attends every court hearing in regards to Lerch to ensure he won’t get out.
