A mom's search for the son she had adopted decades ago has ended in heartbreak. Carol King-Eckersley has just discovered her son, Kenneth Bissett, was a victim of the Lockerbie bombing in 1988.

This story is just so heartbreaking. She said he was her only child and apparently, she decided to let him make the decision to contact her. So sad that he never got the chance. I hope she was able to contact the adoptive parents to learn more about his life and help process her grief.

In 1967, it was pretty standard for a young 19 yo woman, unmarried and pregnant, to give her child up for adoption.
