Sutherlin Police Department

A 28-year-old man has been reported missing in Sutherlin after telling co-workers he was headed to Coos Bay to visit a friend, police said.

Nicholas Blum has been missing since Dec. 23. Police said he was last seen that Friday at 5 p.m. when he left McDonald’s in Sutherlin, where he works. He has not been located since.

Blum was driving a 1995 green Toyota Tercel with Oregon License plate number UNQ902.

Police said they are following leads, but are asking for the public’s help in locating any known friends in the coastal area who he may have been traveling to see.

That last public post on his FB is not encouraging. Regret and despair that he didn't move in with the guy who loved him, who then ODed a few months ago, and no direction in his life. Hope he just decided to take a break or escape to a new place, but it doesn't seem like he has much money to last long on the road.

The road goes right along the river. I am so sad for his family but am glad they have closure now. Google Maps
