Nickel Bird, the 24-year-old woman missing since Tuesday, was found dead Friday near a small camp she made less than a mile from her family’s home outside Bend.

She was not a victim of foul play, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, but the use of prescription medication and exposure to the elements were likely contributing factors in her death.
