The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate a Eugene man who hasn’t been seen in two days and who missed his birthday party.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Carrie Carver said Oren Nichols, 50, hasn’t been seen since early Tuesday morning, when he was at work in the Division Avenue area.

Nichols, who works the night shift, did not show up for work Wednesday, and officials do not know whether he made it home after work Tuesday, Carver said.

Since he was reported missing, Nichols also has missed a medical appointment. He requires special care from his family for medical issues.

Carver said Nichols has not answered his cellphone.

He was reported missing by a family member on December 6th when he did not show up for his birthday party, which had been planned in advance.

Man reported as missing is found safe

A man whose family reported him missing last week has been “found safe and unharmed,” the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday in a news release.

Oren Nichols, 50, was reported as endangered/missing due to medical issues soon after his family said he didn’t return from work Dec. 5 or show up for a scheduled birthday party.

The email Tuesday did not say where Nichols was, when he was found or why he went missing.
