GRANTS PASS, Ore. – The family of a missing mother told NBC5 News they’re organizing a search party Saturday to find her.

Grants Pass Police said 39-year-old Rachael Behnke was reported missing Monday afternoon. A week ago she dropped her kids at North Middle School.

Her brother said she was last seen driving on Redwood Highway towards the California border. But as of 2 days ago, she hasn’t crossed state lines.

“She does suffer from depression and she does have some mental illness stuff. So that is a big concern of ours. We want to make sure that she’s safe,” said Kevin Behnke, Rachael’s brother.

The search will start at 7 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Park in Grants Pass.

On Thursday, December 16, authorities sent out a text message alert to local residents asking them to keep an eye out for Behnke.

Police said nobody has reported seeing her vehicle in the six days she’s been missing.

With recent winter weather, investigators said they’re worried she could be stranded somewhere in the wilderness.

From the above article: "last seen driving a white 2016 Ford Explorer with Oregon License 684MTH."

If LE provided a more detailed timeline (for example, the EXACT time she was last seen) people with ring doorbells or other cameras might be more motivated to check them. MOO!

Yeah I feel like an earlier response might also have been helpful.

Family begins searching for missing Grants Pass woman - KOBI-TV NBC5 / KOTI-TV NBC2
Her brother, Kevin, says the mother of 4 has never disappeared for this long.

“Most the time she’s either come home or checked herself into a facility,” he told me.

He says Rachael suffers from severe depression, which became worse with the isolation of the pandemic, leaving her family beyond concerned of where she might be and if she’s okay.

Excellent article: "Nobody has seen her or heard from her since Friday around 1 p.m, we were told by the police that at 6th Street and Redwood [Highway] is the last time there was a hit on the camera [of her] so we believe that she went west" - gives enough info so locals can check their own cameras for any sign of her around that time.
