ADMIN NOTE:

If I was to tell my husband/wife/lover "You are the apple of my eye", that doesn't mean we should enter into extensive discussion about apples, varieties, Sir Isaac Newton, arrows, species of trees, etc.

He put a rag in a newborn's mouth to prevent crying? And he's an adult?!?!?

Punched a NEWBORN to relieve gas? And he's an adult!?!?!

Those "remedies" don't make a lick of sense, unless he has the cognitive skills of a child. But he's a math teacher and army captain so I'll assume his brain functions.

Thankful these tiny ones are alive.

If he's in the Army, I wonder if he was ever stationed overseas and maybe met mom there. Then she came here, had the twins, he started in abusing them, she knew something was wrong but didn't know how to access help here. Then when she took them to the ER that wound up forcing the issue. JMO OMO MOO! I'm just wondering if that's a possible explanation as to why she wasn't able to get help right away.

“I know what I did, and I completely regret doing it, and I regretted doing it before all the consequences have started coming down on me, like, that’s not, that’s not who I am, that was a mistake,” Sorenson told the Salem Reporter.

He claimed in those comments to be taking counseling classes and “getting better” at managing his anger.
Oregon middle school math teacher accused of starving, abusing his 6-week-old twins: reports

It's okay folks. He regretted his actions even before he regretted getting caught. And he is working on getting better at managing his anger at his own small newborn helpless children. This is all just one big mistake, an oopsy he made.

What I don't understand is how his wife "corroborated" all the allegations? Does this mean she was aware of all this at the time? How else does one corroborate such allegations?

I don’t understand much about the mother. I mean I understand being exhausted with small twins and missing things but broken ribs etc is a lot to miss and do nothing about

answered my own question

Sorenson told a Salem police detective that he would “forcefully push” his knuckles on one child’s stomach as a way to release the child’s gas. He also said he squeezed one of the babies between five and 10 times before his wife stopped him, the affidavit said.

The wife told police Sorenson is “very rough and aggressive with the babies,” and “does not feel that Reece is safe to be alone with the babies.”

I agree did she see things and just not say/do anything until she took them to the hospital? I don't understand that at all . I hope he is never allowed around the children again or if he is it supervised. I hope his oopsy sticks him in jail for a long time. His teaching certificates should be taken from him in my opinion he should never be around children . Jmvho

This phrase pops to mind, "Actions speak louder than words."

I don't believe you, dude, and no way should anyone trust you. Get outta here with that hang-dog attitude. Too late.

Hoping the twins will not have problems now or ever with what was done to them.
Babies can often heal quickly if the right procedures and care can be done.
Just wondering if what he did will continue to cause the twins problems.
He needs to stay well away from those sweet babies -- he, IMO, blew his chances with being a father -- JMO. Grrrrr.

Same thing Rick Allen said to his wife in the interrogation room, before being convicted of murdering 2 little girls!
