Portland police officers are looking for 72-year-old Ronald Gillis, who was last seen around 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 5 near Southeast 135th and Yamhill. According to police, Gillis often goes on long walks, but it is unusual for him to be gone overnight.

Gillis does not have any life-threatening medical conditions and lives on his own, according to police, but he has displayed possible signs of dementia.

He is about 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds. If you see him, police ask that you call 911.

Oh, no....possible dementia! I really hope nothing nefarious befell him. Maybe he’s having an episode of dementia and will be found safe soon.

Bump not seeing much of anything, assume he is a local resident

This is so upsetting. He’s been gone since the 5th. Where on Earth could he be? I don’t know the Portland area to know if he’s close to a bad area of the city. I hope he’s back home and it just somehow hasn’t made msm. I can hope, anyway. *fingers crossed*
