Circumstances of Recovery A skull and mandible were found in the personal possessions of a deceased individual. Associates of the individual remember seeing the skull on the deceased man's desk, thinking it was fake. The skull and mandible were determined to be real skeletal material, and an antemortem filling can be observed in one of the mandibular molars, thus making this a contemporary case. The skeletal remains were turned over to law enforcement.
