Police Search for Missing Klamath County Woman and Child

A woman and young boy are considered missing from Klamath Falls after they were last seen driving out of town yesterday.

Klamath Community College (KCC) first announced the news on Twitter Thursday morning at 10:15 a.m. In the tweet, Klamath Community College said that the woman was a "member of our KCC family."

KCC described the woman as 68-years-old, and said that she was traveling with an 11-year-old boy. They said that the woman was last seen heading west out of Klamath Falls at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, driving a Mercury Sable.

Oregon State Police (OSP) have confirmed that these people are missing, and will be releasing more details on the case shortly.

It's extremely bizarre that the only place reporting this is the Community College, despite the police being aware of it.

UPDATE: Oregon State Police say a woman and boy missing since Wednesday have been found dead in the North Umpqua River near Hwy 138 at mile post 44.

Oregon State Police have identified the woman as Sandra Mincher, age 68 of Dillard, OR. The boy has not been identified as he is a juvenile.

Emergency responders located the 2005 Mercury Sable that had for unknown reasons left the roadway, struck a tree, and was partially in the river. OSP and Douglas County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the vehicle around noon on Thursday.

They make it sound like they lived in the same house though never say what their connection was:
