Do we know if Stephanie had any sort of boat?

  • #402
I have already searched for any boats stolen July 4th. Didn't find any.

I think this triangle of land in the picture is maybe the Swayne Point the report said searchers were seen near? It looks as though a vehicle - especially any off road type - could get really close to the water. It also looks as though there is a road bridge above the water, from where poor Stephanie could have been thrown.

Lake Applegate is man made and even has a town beneath it. There will be old trees and many other objects etc, I'd think, on the lake bed. It will be difficult to search.

Yes to the bolded points. The bridge across the dam is very accessible. We stood there in September. If you can access the panoramic view I posted upthread, you can "walk" across the bridge. It would be very easy to throw someone off, weighted. :(

Aren't there SAR cadaver dogs that can work on the water?

As deep as the water is by the dam, I doubt a boat would be needed. It would be awkward and suspicious late at night. The bridge would be easier. IMO

This handsome fella certainly can. Bites the water too, to make sure you get the message.

Anyone know when or if the other thread is coming back up? I have some thoughts I would like to add that have nothing to with this whole (insert word/s)

It's under admin review. Not sure at this time.

Judging by the photos I was able to find and the numbers the runners were wearing, I am guessing there were at least a few hundred swimmers in the water on the 13th and 14th of July. Not sure what part of the lake they were in though... Does anyone know more about this race?

I've searched the KOBI website and found nothing about the lake search. I can't tell what time the teaser for the 6:00 pm news was posted on FB November 7. The first comment was at 5:48 pm. It's quite possible it didn't air. I didn't happen to watch the news that night.

I am under the impression that KMED radio reported about Wednesday's search, possibly yesterday.

Also wanted to add that cadaver dogs were used on more than one occasion to search Vallecito lake, for Dylan Redwine. Numerous "hits" by more than one dog were reported , yet LE consistently downplayed those reports. To date, the only remains of Dylan reported found were located on Middle Mountain, not in the lake.

I'm not familiar with other cases involving cadaver dogs searching on bodies of water.

Thanks for all the info on the search area!!! I pray for Stephanie's family to have answers and to know the fate of their dear loved one. The unknowing has got to eat at the soul. Not sure how families and friends get through each day. I've never lost anyone for more than a few minutes, and that felt like major panic attack that wouldn't end. I'm sure I would be heavily sedated for quite some time. I don't deal well with a missing animal, and end up in a full blown fibro flare up. Doesn't matter if exciting news or depressing, my body doesn't like extremes.

Oh Stephanie... you are not forgotten!!

Sorry for the confusion. I was just referencing the lack of further info on the KOBI sites.

Yes, KMED is where we got our info. I think you were the one who shared it on the other thread before we moved over here IIRC. Thank you! Their report, posted on Friday around 5:00 a.m., sounds like they were sharing info from the KOBI5 newscast from Thursday at 6:00 p.m. KOBI never posted anything except the teaser on FB Thursday. Thank goodness for KMED! Their report is partially quoted near the beginning of this thread, which is already getting too long to follow! :)

Thanks for clarifying, Lilibet.

Given the state of journalism today, I'm not sure we can count on the initial news report being fact-checked with the JCSO before it was broadcast. But one would assume that if a tip regarding a search on the lake was called in to MSM that someone would have confirmed with LE that a search had taken place. Anything beyond that is pure speculation I suppose.

Sort of odd that a remote lake like Applegate would have had any witnesses around at all to see this "search".
