Bump.

I suspect she was born Virginia L Beller, who married Jim Ringo in Clark County, Washington State in January 1954. They both gave their address as Portland, Oregon. Virginia Beller was born in Gretna, Kansas on February 19, 1926.

Hello, can you please send me the source you found on Virginia’s background? There’s absolutely nothing on her at all, anywhere. It’s disturbing that friends, family, and frankly the police, haven’t gone public with anything over the decades.

There are multiple records on Ancestry. A 1950s Federal Census record showing a Virginia L Beller, born in Kansas, living in Eugene Oregon. A 1940 Federal Census record showing the same living in Sutherlin Oregon. A 1954 marriage record and certificate showing Virginia L Beller, born 26 February 1926 at Gretna Kansas marrying Jim Ringo on 19 January 1954 at Vancouver, Clark, Washington. Added together they seem conclusive. Oddly I have found she had (at least) 5 siblings (and they have descendants) through a search on her sister Dorothy Parazoo (Beller) who died in 2007 - but she never seems to get a mention. I am sure of the match as the parents are the same - George and Minnie, as well as the same location of Oregon (and Eugene in the past). It is strange.
ps; I have now found a divorce record for Virginia from Jim Ringo from 1969.

This was all useful information, thank you. I don’t know if you’re from this area but there are a ton of very disturbing missing persons cases, mainly women, from back in the 1980’s and 1990’s in particular.

Have you identified a descendent of hers who is around still and living? It sounds like there might be some nieces and nephews.

Not from the area. All her siblings are now dead (4 were older). At least 2 (Dorothy Parazoo and Charles V Beller) are shown as having children although the ones listed on family trees and the Find a Grave site (6 in total) are all deceased (this does not preclude others living as they would be classified private and may not be listed). It seems overwhelmingly probable that there are a number of nieces and nephews around.
ps. I have now found an obituary notice for her father from 1967 at Lane County, Oregon Genealogy & History - Obituary and Death Notices - Surnames Bel. This says "George A. Beller of 111 North Garfield, Eugene, passed away at his home July 4, 1967 at the age of 75. He was born March 15, 1892 in Warrensberg, Missouri. He is survived by 6 children: Mrs. Dorothy B. Parazee, Springfield, Mrs. Esther Peerson, Coquille, George Jr., Salem. Mrs. Pauline Hill, Mrs. Virginia Ringo, and Charles, all of Eugene; 4 brothers: Ray Beller, Portland, Clyde Beller, Gresham, Archie Beller, Kansas, and Ed Morgan, Klamath Falls; a sister, Mrs. Velma McNulty, Kansas; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren." This is the first and only time I have found a reference to Virginia in any family materials. It certainly confirms a large number of potential nieces and nephews.

Yes, thank you for this! I have sifted though countless newspaper archives and have found some on some of this missing people around here from back then, but I cannot find anything on Virginia’s 1982 disappearance. Her NAMUS profile has an interesting clue, it states she disappeared 2/5/1982 but it states a missing person’s report was not made until 3/31/1982, almost 2 months later.

I don't think that website is functioning any longer.
