Police are asking for the public’s with finding a 76-year-old woman who was reported missing Tuesday morning.

Wenzhen Chen left her home in downtown Portland at around 8 a.m. after making statements that caused her family to believe she may be in a crisis, according to Portland police.

Chen is an active walker who regularly walks up to 10 miles a day. She is physically healthy and recently began suffering from memory loss, police said. She is also familiar with the transit system

Chen was described as a 5-foot-3, 135-pound Chinese woman. She primarily speaks Mandarin, police said.

Search Continues For Missing Portland Woman

Portland, Oregon – A 76-year-old woman is still missing. Wenzhen Chen was last seen leaving her home in downtown Portland Tuesday morning. Her family thinks she may be in crisis. She was wearing a light colored jacket with blue flowers.

Detectives were able to obtain a surveillance photo of Chen prior to her leaving her residence. Chen is wearing a light colored jacket printed with blue flowers and green leaves, and dark pants.

Anyone seeing Chen is asked to immediately call 9-1-1 so police may check her welfare. Anyone with non-emergency information is asked to contact Detective Heidi Helwig at 503-823-0797, [email protected].

Police said a body recovered near the river Friday was identified as Chen. Police did not immediately release other details about where her body was found.
