I remember my mom and older sisters loving this movie. I don't know if I saw it myself or just remember them talking about it.

Jeremiah Johnson is said to be the favourite amongst lead Robert Redford’s own large and illustrious body of work.

Why rediscover Jeremiah Johnson.

Robert Redford directed one of my favorite films..

'Redford’s film version makes the crucial decision to keep Maclean’s voice in the film; his own prose is read as a narration, by Redford, so that we do not simply see events as they happen, we are reminded that they are memories from long ago, and that the author has spent time and trouble to draw the lessons from them.''
This was one of my favorites too….and I had actually watched it (again) last night.

I have enjoyed watching his movies many times over….whether he acted in them or directed them. Out of Africa is another of my big favorites.

He was a wonderful actor, director, and person.

RIP Mr. Redford

I don't think I've seen it. I'll have to check it out.

I just read this is the film where he insisted to use fake fish - he was a strong animal advocate, especially of wildlife.

in the Horse Whisperer Redford pulled off the most erotic scene I can recall. Nope, no nudity, no grinding, not even kissing, not even much eye contact. No revealing clothes or heavy breathing. No puffy lipped overly made up female stars, no macho man chisled jaw guys. Nothing actually happened, it was "what could have happened".

KInd of like 1000 levels up from the dance in the King and I, if anyone remembers that tension.

Ha ha.....no spoilers.
