The powers that be turned our Spotlight Forum into a showcase for DNASolves’ active/unsolved cases. They may be in desperate need of funding or have garnered little attention.

Obviously, every case deserves to be in the SPOTLIGHT, but hopefully this will help these cases get the funding they need or be seen by the right person.

Thanks to everyone who shares the cases and helps with solving them. ❤️

@othram ive been seeing Virginia adding a ton of old cases into namus recently.

They seem to be putting a lot of effort into adding cases into namus.

Maybe they need some help with genealogy?

Seems like Tannisha was in NamUs as a missing person, but she was reported as last seen in 2015, 4 years after she was found.

Missing: Tannisha Edison | Detroit, MI | Uncovered

I'm so glad Chief Hawkins is working very hard to bring justice for Tannisha.

Our research team is excited to share our recent validation study for KinSNP®, a widely used tool that measures distant relationships using dense SNP data. The peer-reviewed study demonstrates KinSNP’s performance using real genomic data from diverse populations, alongside simulated pedigree data (up to 9th-degree relationships) and challenging conditions such as missing or incorrect genotypes.

I'm not finding a Doe thread for Virgia. Not under her NamUs number or her LV Unidentified number. I don't know if there is a thread and I'm just not finding it? I feel like she should have one, as her NamUs number is so low, but I've seen other low numbers without threads in the past.

Virgia was classified as "white" when she actually wasn't.
Cheaper, more reliable DNA offers so much more than skull morphology, which would be what they would have been relying on.

That's right. DNA is the fastest, cheapest, and most accurate way to infer identity.
