Looks like his NamUs number was UP85273. You can view his page using the Wayback Machine, I went back to a capture from January last year.

Circumstances of Recovery
Assemblage of skeletal elements found by a utility worker in a wooded area near 107 S. Sweet Home Church Road, Pearl, MS. Lower body appeared skeletonized but intact and still encased in clothing; upper body was skeletonized and scattered. ID found on body is that of Robert Dale Hawthorne.

So according to the Facebook group Help Find Jeff Surtel the remains of Jeff have identified through DNA testing. This was said in a Facebook post by Gary Surtel, whom I assume is his dad.
