Congratulations, Othram! Great job as always.

May I ask how difficult was it to identify him? I wonder if he was from Russian ancestry and how well represented in Gedmatch are people with East European ancestry? I am in Gedmatch and can see I have no real matches there's

If he was of Mennonite descent, the records for Mennonite migration to Canada in the 20th century and lines of descent are quite good. I don't know if this applies.

The genealogy took some time but it was not unreasonable complex. We detected some Swedish ancestry and those folks are decently represented. You are right in that Eastern Europeans folks are probably not as well represented. That would be more tough.

I think something similar was said with a DDP case who had a large amount of Scandinavian lineage.

This is just an observation from me, but would it be a better idea when advertising cases to advertise older ones needing funding to help get them ready for research? Even if they were staggered like: One New case and 2 older cases or vice versa, or something totally different

I just finished adding write-ups for each ongoing case on the Wikipedia page, so now each case on the 'ongoing cases' tab should link to a respective UID or unidentified murder victim list page with information.

EDIT: NOW they should, one was accidentially linking to an image.

Wow that was really fast! Do you start genealogy before or after the funding goal is met?
Usually we try to fund a case before starting work. However, if we are close to funded and we have an opening, we try to sometimes start sooner.
